Saido Berahino. Why were so many people apparently clamouring for his signature, but he goes nowhere. I can't see anything special in his game. Widen it to the world, and a certain Cristiano Ronaldo springs to mind. He'd not last one game in the Championship before someone took his legs off at the knee for one too many pointless stepovers.
Not if you take his age into account. Signed at 20. He could play for them for 12 years then they could sell him and make a profit. Also he's going to improve during that time and this very likely going to be a part of a title\and or cup winning side
Are we talking players who play for England.........or Players playing in England of any nationality?
If we are talking about players who play for England, I would vote for Adam Lallana. Think I only ever seen him play a handful of decent games for both Southampton and Liverpool. If we are talking about players of all nationalities playing in England, I would go for, Christian Benteke. Despite scoring a hattrick against us last season, he got his big money move to Liverpool and so far, he hasn't achieved very much. Based on performances for the wage they receive, Rooney would be number one.
Yes. Ronaldo. A legend in his own press clippings, every single commentator fawns over him. But it's been proven by Portugal's lack of success internationally that he's only good when surrounded by a team of good players that will - for want of a better term - service him properly. He had that at Man Utd, and he has it at Real. But stick him in a team of nobodies for his country, and he doesn't deliver. He's only as good as those around him, imo. Benteke is the same, but ironically it affects him in reverse. He shines in a crap long-ball team like Villa, but for Liverpool, where the ball comes in on the deck, he's rubbish. For a player vastly overrated by a single commentator, I can only offer the nauseating duo that is Adam Lallana and Glenn Hoddle. Hoddle must go through en entire box of tissues when he's watching Lallana fall over time and again after running into opposition players.
Yaya Toure. Can't agree about Rooney. One of the best players I've seen play. His movement and game off the ball is best in England.
