What is amazing (and uplifting in a way) is that Leicester (and LFC to a certain extent a few years ago) has shown that you do not have to spend money on the Chelsea or City scale (huge money over many transfer windows) to get a shot at the title. All (!) you need is these special players that lift every one around them. Just like our team without Suarez, Leicester would be nowhere near the top without Vardy and Mahrez.

Our team's main problem is a lack of goals and Benteke creates a goal every 1.6 games (which includes numerous sub appearances when the game is already lost) and yet many Liverpool fans just want to scream about how he's the worst player we've ever had

You're right, but the time to do that was in the summer of '14 when we had the Suarez money and a CL place. Brendan's argument that everything hinged on Sanchez pitiful - why on earth wasn't there a plan B?

Reading fatty Samuel in the Mail, and the big thing I can fault with his report is this - he says Liverpool have the better players, but Leicester have the better team. I don't think Liverpool have one player, certainly not last night, in the class of Vardy or Mahrez (sp).

They've spent over £300m on players ffs.

It's not their fault if the people they've tasked with making that investment i.e. Rodgers and the fabled committee have royally ****ed it up.

They've also sorted your stadium out.

They've run at a loss for 4 years.

They've managed to employ one of the highest rated managers in the game.

What more do you ****ing want? <laugh>

The idea that they're not looking for a return and that anyone else who might follow them wouldn't have the same idea is absolutely noddy. There's only 2 clubs who are run (or I should say WERE run) without a care about a fiscal return and they were Chelsea and City. Both are now at the point were they're virtually self sufficient. The Chinese investment into City has given them the foundation for further growth and player investment and Chelsea are now in profit.

Every other owner in the league is in it for an eventual pay day. FSG are no exception. To expect people to chuck hundreds of £m's at a football club for 'love' is beyond naive.

FSG have been guilty of one thing......employing the wrong people to manage the football side of the business. To blame them for you being pretty **** at present is way off beam.

    Mahrez cost £400k

    ...and Vardy cost £1m.

Those 2 facts sort of sink your entire premise

    Tobes nailed it.

Just to emphasise, FSG brought in a world class manager, despite how poor we've regressed.

If there is anything positive this season, this is it.

What do you prioritise at current time?

Personally I'd go for a Striker and a DM/CM. Just have to look at what quality in these two positions can do with Leicester having Vardy and Kante. But those don't have to cost alot, if you've got the people who know what they're looking for and whats worth buying, which I don't believe we have.

But there is alot of places we need strengthening, GK, CB, LB, CM, Wingers (if we're going down that route) and CF.
The one position I don't think we should be buying is ACM, because we go **** loads of them (part of the reason I'm ok with not spending £30odd Mill on Texieria)

This is true; it also shows that big money is not needed in football, all you need are players who know how to play and who want to play.

Sadly, however, I fear Leicester's story will be a one off phenomenon only this season for seasons to come because money is where the game is now and if their form continues Vardy and Mahrez will be lured away eventually by the promise of big bucks.

It's also our crappy defence, our last goalkeeper, and not much going on in the midffield.

Benteke isn't the worst by any means, but he still isn't worth what he paid for him; hasn't shown that he is, anyway

    who is?

    its just money.

Its all about team.. and perception and frankly if we had suarez and were still in 7th we'd be more optimistic.
