I am constantly amazed at this stuff.

    1. In case people missed this... we are in a cup final.

    2. In case people missed this we lost to the top of the table team off the back of a worldie strike.

    3. In case people missed this.. things change all the time. we've seen a LOT worse than this current team/.

    4. In case people missed this little fact.. we changed the manager as a result of all the stuff people are WHINING about. players and results.

I think peopel need to stop acting like spolit brats

When fans are asked to pay £77 for a ticket, they can moan about the ****e product they receive in return

Agreed but the point I was making that most big clubs have a committee. <ok>

I think I'm going to start referring to it as a "recruitment team" rather than committee.

Yes they do...but the weight of balanceor power is not the same in all recruitment teams. There also seems to be a clearer statement of direction in many other teams..e.g. always focus on youth and sell on stars...etc..

I would exclude many of the league winning teams as examples of success because they were and would succeed inspite of the set up due to the money they have.

You appear to know more about it than me: name me the teams that started mid table with limited funds that adopted this style and then went on to win the league or in european cups consistently.

My main point as always is that FSG have blamed the previous coaching team on recruitment failures since those are the only ones replaced...which is bizarre if its a collective. I've seen little improvement in the existing squad under new coaching which can only mean one of two things:

Klopp isnt as good as people thought.

    Or

The squad is full of mediocre players sekected, persued and bought by a group of people...most of which kept their positions in recruitment.

I think it is the second issue.

    Or... what coaching?

Klopp has had the busiest schedule of any football team in Europe, playing a game every 3 days. Combined with no preseason, when do you think he's actually had time to coach the players?

Can't say consistently but Dortmund and At Madrid are good examples. Sevilla won the EL and got into the CL.

Juve were messed up but managed to get back into a strong position after great spending - yes, they were still powerful but they still made it to a CL final.

Building on a budget and philosophy is certainly achievable but it requires patience and risks. What we need are scouts, money men, manager, coach all on the same page. The last regime - there was a clear division.

Now, it looks like Klopp and the scouts may work well together but if they continue to fail, then the fingers will be pointed at the scouts finally.

I maintain that the big money, senior flops were down the last manager and he fought for those players, and neglected the committee signings.

    Let's wait and see ...

Rodgers said if you're going to sell Suarez, who already only stayed an extra season because I convinced him, then at least get me Sanchez in return. The committee failed and got him Balotelli.

Valid point but he appears to get angry enough on the sideline with individual players that suggests his instructions are being ignored too often.

We'll wait and see. I do believe that the committee have signed some good young players who will prove to be good - they need time and good coaching which I think Klopp will provide.

What we really need is a DOF to align all parties.

  12. Ours is a 50:50 split between football and non-football people. You could argue that the football side as the power with the manager in their ranks but don't underestimate the power the moneyball guy (Edwards) has!

Incredible that a club like Liverpool can have a "transfer committee" built with people who know as much about football as my Nan.

    #594
  15. No strictly true since there are two scouts and Klopp on the committee but I get the point <laugh>

thing is.... not everyone is being asked that so I think we should all go look at exactly who is being asked to fork out what... then compare to the clubs we want to rival....

£77 is for the lower tier of the new main stand. that is a lot of people. thats the arguement thats being made is in effect every seat added is a premium seat.

The upper main stand thats being built will be £36. probably cos its going to be be needing bincolulars and the wind will blow you out if it.

The price is for category A games too. Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, City, United, Spurs....

for other game sthe pricing on this top ticket drops to £69 and then £59

the kop is £43 today and will be £47 next year

Thats a fuller picutre do decide off.

Is it right? is it wrong? you guys decide. I can't afford it either way.

Oh i think thye've porved by some of the buys they really don't know and klopp is or only hope.

Edwards in particualr is very much in FSG's ear and its a disaster IMO.

    #597
  18. Edwards is the main problem imo but he's not going anywhere, he's FSG's right hand man with Gordon there to look after him.
