We had hoped to find a solution to better accessibility to Anfield for younger and future generations through reduced ticket prices. “We began our engagement with the club in a spirit of cooperation and a willingness to compromise. To give the process the best chance of success we presented ideas and agreed to their requests for confidentiality, agreeing a Terms of Reference by which we have abided. Our proposals going into the negotiation were as follows: 1. At least 70% of the ground to be paying an affordable price (£30 in our view); 2. An end to match categorisation and; 3. Increases in the number of young supporters inside Anfield. “We believe it is right and fair to lower ticket prices in order to sustain our support and subsequently the atmosphere inside Anfield. Unfortunately, the decisions of the ownership are based purely on economics with no compromise. They have tried to frame the debate from the view that ticket prices as they stand are fair and that their planned rises somehow supports this fairness. In fairness they're campaigning to try and ensure that the working man isn't priced out of the game. They thought (naively) that the club should use some of the incremental TV revenue to reduce ticket prices and thus affordability. The club have come back with a pricing structure that prices the working man out of the new seating sections. What they're basically saying is that you've either have to be a well heeled individual or a day tripper to fill those incremental seats. There's an irony in the fact that they deliberately ran down a working class area and then demolished it, in order to get some more middle class bums on seats. The modern game all over this...

Yes I can't afford it. the reality is its a competitive market and the bigger stadium is to pay for wages and players and if we want to be bottom half we can have bottom half prices. If SoS says 30 quid is the right price and all tickets are above it then who's wrong....
Meh, it's not all about remaining competitive in the league and a choice between top and bottom half, that's hyperbole. 8,000 new seats at £40 as opposed to £70, equates to a difference of £240k a game or just over £4.5m per season, you telling me that's the difference between top and bottom half? No.... you are correct but there is half of that corporate. Your maths on 150mil investment t would say it would never occur. Plus the concessions.... it's worth a fair bit more... but it's not the difference on its own. If our cheapest ticket is 36 and sos want 30 we'd not be losing your 4.5mil we'd be reducing our current revenues too. Wed not even break even on the sos model on a 60k stadium.

Day 1..... I'm on it from tonight! I did actually used to do something similar but over Xmas sort of drifted then I got a cold so kind of couldn't be bothered.. Need to get back into it though ready for summer.
