Easier to just say, since FSG took over, Suarez, Cotinho, Studge (even with the injuries) and maybe Can and possibly Sakho.

Vardy's volley or Rooney's team effort world class tap in? Which one to vote for? Certainly a difficult choice <whistle>

You just have to say in the end, why Caroll and Benteke? You couldn't make it up for those figures and the squads we have/had when they were purchased.

It's just ridiculous on so many levels

Hendo was more of a mid-range I'd say, Sakho maybe as well. Suarez is the only undeniable hit of those four, and it's not like he wasn't without his problems. Hendo did come good but hasn't really shown his best form in over a year now. Sakho is also far too inconsistent. Firmino's had a couple of good games and a lot of average game,s but gets the beneift of the doubt for now given our situation.

I never. Unless we got a spawny deflection or a dodgy pen, or suchlike. Be honest though, it's beautifully bewildering watching us running around the middle of the pitch tripping over the ball, misplacing passes, winning it back, crashing into each other, Lallana's Cruyff turns when nobody's near him, Can activity looking for bunches of opponents to run into, Lucas simply kicking the ball out of play... it's as if someone had given the Munchkins a football to kick about during their welcoming dance to Dorothy.

Look at all that money, and most of it wasted. Its enough to make a grown man weep.

All that money spent on average players, average before they signed, average when they signed and average after they signed.

Either FSG need to go or they put someone in charge who knows what they're doing (Chairman and DoF)

We seem to have a game a month where our attack looks great and we score three or four goals. Then we spend the rest of the month not even averaging a goal a game.

Nah. By and large we somehow made them even worse by time they left us.

  13. All true but we're moving away from my original point. I never claimed FSG have been good when it comes to transfers, they haven't. I said their transfer policies should prevent us from signing true quality players.

I listed Suarez, Torres, Mascherano, Alonso and Hyypia earlier in the thread of quality players that were between 22 and 25 when joining the club.

I still believe the biggest hurdle is the wage structure. No doubt someone (I'm looking at Jimmy or Tobes) will throw in the rumoured £150k were paying Milner but (a) he joined on a free, (b) both Johnson and Gerrard left the summer he joined and (c) £150k is that high a wage in the PL any more, it's more of a going rate.

That doesn't mean we should be looking to spend more either though. What it does is rule out already established player playing in one of the top leagues. It means we have to be shrewd with our dealings. We need to target player plying their trade in the so-called lesser league who see getting £100k per week as hitting the jackpot! (crazy ****ers eh?)

To be honest, the problems appear to be identifying the right players, paying the right price for them and integrating them into the team properly (so pretty much everything to do with transfer, to be honest). None of that is particuarly FSG's remit as owners. Since they've come in, they're provided plenty of cash for transfers, improved the commercial side no end and (finally) started work on expanding the stadium. I have no real problems with them as owners; the problems lie elsewhere. Yes, Mike Gordon is on the transfer committee, but he's one of five or six (and I thought everything was supposed to be Rodgers' fault anyway...[not aimed at you in particular]).We need people who are smart at transfers. Do we have that at the moment? Doesn't look like it.

  15. I like FSG so there is no way I'm agreeing to them having to go. However, they do need to look at the way they've been working. I almost detest having to mention the very thing but, the transfer committee needs addressing! no way you can blame any one member for all those poor purchases, it group as a whole must take responsibility. that in itself is a bad situation as they can each hide behind the others. We need to apply accountability to an individual, whether that be the manager (preferable) or not.

Not sure I 100% agree (though I see your point), but I'm getting too tired to make a proper response. Night x

    Mike Gordon; FSG man

Ian Ayre; Whatever you call him, he's not a football man!

    Jurgen Klopp; manager

    Dave Fallows; scout

    Barry Hunter; scout

    Michael Edwards; FSG's Moneyball man

I see a 50:50 split between football and non-football men there. That isn't a good situation for recruiting players!
