The academy referred to in Redfield is multi sport and overstretched, so no there are not plenty of those about.

BIC who run a development centre on the City academy site ... Bristol City don't have plenty ... it's none in Bristol. It's an obvious void in City's player pathway

They have an academy and finite resources...that's what the academy is for.

If they are planning to move the academy to Ashton Vale. all well and good.

The City academy site in Redfield is independent of BCFC. It's financed by the Council. Football clubs including City, Rovers, and numerous central Bristol Clubs along with BIC use its facilities. It's in constant use and has anything but finite resources.

What was briefly mooted was a Sports academy / sports facility being bulky at Ashton Vale and agreement was reached with local residents / Town green campaigners.

There clearly would be a demand for such a faculty, there is an obvious void in City's player pathway via the Community Trust as the Trust has no real faculty of its own and pays others e.g Keynsham, the Council to use their faculty.

A educational sporting facillty would complement BCFC's academy and fit in with the model of Bristol.Sport becoming a Sports club of the community in line with foreign Football centred sporting clubs. That would be the only of its kind in the South West.
