I’m very excited by a couple of Mr Henderson’s of the morrow.

At Leicester (3.00) the 8YO LESSONS IN MILAN makes a belated fencing bow and now has the opportunity to make up for lost time. A dual winner, from just 3 outings, over timber that terrible cliché ‘whatever he does over hurdles is a bonus’ is certainly true in his case. He was bought to be a steeplechaser and a steeplechaser is what he is. Has to give weight all round but I would imagine that Mr Henderson believes him far, far better than the 140 he runs off tomorrow. I don’t think Lessons In Milan’s opponents are of the most highest quality and he should start off with a win tomorrow provided, and this is the unknown I suppose, he is fit enough. Long term he could be perfect for a National. Maybe, Mr Hemmings’ 4th at Aintree?!?

My regular readers will recall that CHOCCA WOCCA is a mare that I have followed closely since her debut last year as her dam was an old fave of mine (and she was top class, as well, being placed to perfection by Mr Henderson to win 3 Grade 2 events). Chocca Wocca, herself, made an excellent start to her career in bumpers last season winning one and then finishing runner-up at Listed level. It would be a big surprise, again providing she is fit enough on her seasonal bow, if she doesn’t start her hurdling career with a victory and then prove up to competing, like mummy, in Graded company.

    Good luck all.

Finished eighth in the paddy power over chistmas and finished five lenghts second to No More Heroes at Punchy in October.

    1:45 Down Royal - Harangue 40/1

By no means a confident bet but this horse is capable of putting a good run together so 40s looks ridiculously big and definetly worth a small dabble ew

Evens for a horse who might tank off with his jock. Short enough for me.

Has to win and win well to take up his entry in the ‘Champion Hurdle’. And I think the old boy will.

That Sandown Park race has a fair record of producing CH winners. In recent terms both the legendary Binocular and Rooster Booster have won it prior to the big ‘un. Am surprised though that the race isn’t being shown live by Channel 4. Poor bit of scheduling there, methinks.

Don’t worry, Nassie, me old love. Mr Henderson’s magic hands and brilliant brain will have sorted out that particular issue. As they say round my way, ‘In Mr Henderson we trust’.

Chocca Wocca now a non-runner. Hide your disappointment stoically, regular readers.
