It can be very useful for many towns to know that it will be coming through as the roads are quite often repaired before hand. Maybe the UK could get better surfaces if there was more of it.

We have a minor race come past the house in August, and all of the verges and grass banks are cut beforehand. One year the entire course of 13 miles, 7 circuits, had a road sweeper go round clearing mud that had been brought from the fields and loose gravel on the corners.

It is amazing what can be achieved, when something like that happens all of a sudden there is money in the pot to be spent on repairs.

Not liking English involvement idea at all , gives the racists a bit of credibility in this mess! I suppose I will see if anything changes around here soon enough!
I am a bit concerned , if I have to work away and leave Mrs N alone here, at least she has the dogs, but even so!

I cannot imagine what is going to be happening in Norway in the aftermath of this and it cannot be easy for your good lady or yourself mate, but at least you have the dogs! Keep them hungry! I have worries about my other half in Paris, the area is perfectly safe but you just never know and she is on the 6th floor of the apartment block. But it still concerns me, her on the Metro and the attitude of individuals towards females.

Morning all, and thanks for the tea Ak.

Just come back from Jersey Airport and seen my son off on his way to the World Scout Jamboree and passed on my best from all you who (sort of) mentioned it but his flight to Gatwick has been delayed due to fog. The airport is in the West of the island and when we get fog, that's usualy where gets it the worst and clears slowest. I wouldn't call it poor planning as I can't work out where on the island would to be able to hold an airport with the amount of ground it requires, even a small one like Jersey.

I always remember the Leicester fans being particularly annoying on the old 606. Very similar to Nottingham. Did you know they were once quite good? Well just in case you didn't, I am going to remind you ever comment I make.

I'm not usually one for thinking up chants when it comes to football. I am one of those people who sits and watches a game, with the occasional clapping along to a song. But, I had a thought the other day.

As a way of welcoming Craig Forsyth to the promised land, when his name is read out, how about one side of the Rookery sings, "NICE TO SEE YOU" with the other side answering, "TO SEE YOU, NICE"?

Just got to think of a song for Mirfin, the Prince, Big Chris and Yeates.

Oh dear, initial survey of roof repair I have just bodged is the damage is a lot deeper and more expensive :( Might be cheaper and easier to just knock the bathroom extension down and start again , with an improved drainage system and an angled tiled roof rather than the flat roof that is installed! Thinks I need some builders:(
