A lot of guesswork, speculation, and ignorance already on this thread. Very apparent that few people are able to comprehend how corporate finance works, and posters seem to present sums as if they were fact. Also, if he walked away getting his money back is that bad? Seems to be some resentment at the idea anyone could walk away with anything but losing a few million. The gift of a solvent club to the city never equated with giving millions away for kicks and fun. No business survives on charity. Get real.
True but he also wouldn't have made anything from the venture, and I suspect his ego would want him to be one of the few to leave a club having made a profit which, considering the state we were in when he bought us, would genuinely be impressive.
Right, because it can't be any worse than having an owner who has consistently backed the manager and under whom we have enjoyed promotion, an FA Cup final, and played in a European competition. It's amazing how we are going to achieve promotion again this year despite him.
