Off Topic Rant: had enough of a friend and her bloody smartphone!

Nothing wrong with Steely Dan singalongs. Had their greatest hits playing in the car one day, and even she admitted Rikki Don't Lose That Number was good.

 

I've got a nice cellar she can stay in for as long as I want she wants.

 

Next time just text her during the meal asking if she's having a nice night out.

I was at a party at Christmas, my 16 year old was sat all night on the phone,there was a young girl there from down the road I knew he was quite keen on, so I mentioned it to him and said why don't you go speak to her, he said he was already speaking to her by text, she was on the other side of the room ffs.

the other bit I don't understand is people who go on Facebook posting pictures on facebook about what a great time they are having with whatever they are doing. If its that ****ing good why are you on the phone!!!

Another alternative is take a laptop with you, when she gets her phone out, push the plates to one side and plonk it on the table, think she might get the message then

 

When she's glued to her phone next text her "Hi! I'm wishi the person sat opposite you, would you kindly get off your phone and back to our conversation?"

 

Also when you take your Laptop, take a long extension lead with you, trail it across the restaurant and when it is all plugged in apologise about your battery being a bit duff and you have to plug it in else it won't last the night/meal out, then start playing Solitaire

 

.......alternatively, you could just tell her to go boil her head the next time she asks if you're coming out for a drink.

That's the nuclear option though

 

Sound advice actually but last resort and normally irreversible. But reducing the number of dicks in your life who you know to be dicks but somehow still manage to be acquainted with, and therefore increasing your quality of life, is the best move

Or the full PC with speakers, extension cables, webcam, the whole works. Do it in style and disturb the whole restaurant
