    I have to agree.

A bit like Jose, he always picks the jobs where everything is in his favour - in particular an open chequebook.

Until he picks a team of the next tier down or one that needs quite a bit of work then I won't rate him as an all time great.

United would have been more of a challenge for him and a better fit in my opinion.

In this respect you have to give Klopp credit. He's taken on a massive job.

I reckon he underestimated the work required to get us back up there.

Pep and Jose have avoided such challenges and prefer to hop about every few years.

They will run out of clubs soon!

See your point, but then I suppose that if you're offered the top jobs, you'll take them. I mean, did any of the other clubs enquire about him?

Wouldn't use that gesture Noel. Wouldn't want you cowering under your keyboard now , would we?

Inheriting a squad that needs a overhaul whilst there are 6 other teams who could potentially win the league is hardly the easy route.

What's he meant to do? Drop down to Scunthorpe and get them to the Champions League just to prove to people he's a good manager.

Taking the Man City job is a risky one to take for his reputation because money doesn't count for everything when some Championship clubs have more money than some of the top teams in Europe.

He could quite easily flop at Man City and come unstuck by just how intense the English League is.

    And who are these teams?
I make it three teams with a realistic chance of winning the league this season, City, Arsenal and Leicester
Who are the other 3? Spurs? United? Chelsea? <laugh>

    United
    Chelsea
    Spurs
    Arsenal
    Liverpool
    Man City

I'm not talking about this season I'm talking about future seasons. Maybe I over exaggerated the amount of teams that could potentially win it but my point is in most top leagues there is only 2 or 3 teams who could potentially win it and in some cases like Germany there is only one likely winner.

Coming the the EPL isn't an easy league to come to and having an open cheque book isn't a sure sign of success. There is much more competition in this league and teams in the bottom 3 can quite conceivably beat the top teams on their day.

Chelsea this season is an example that a decent manager and a shed load of money and top class players doesn't mean everything.

If you are talking about future seasons then any and every team has a chance of winning the league <doh>

I'm guessing that's because Noel and I have the same IQ.

That's very kind of you Blueman.

To show how much I appreciate it I am going to reciprocate and call you Jimmy.

    As in Bullard.

Realistically. With the occasional exception to the rule.

    I sense you're splitting hairs.

My overall point being that whilst yes the Man City set up and role is a dream job for managers, it is still more difficult than people make out and his most difficult job so far.

Especially as it looks like there could be an overhaul underachieving teams are more likely to improve next year.

Well I certainly expect Chelsea, United and maybe Liverpool to improve next season, as usual though, it will depend on the summers signings.
    And City will SPEND.

    They spend every summer mate.
I can see at least £200m being spent in the summer by them alone, maybe even a cool quarter billion.
United and Chelsea will probably spend over 100m each too.

    You can't fault Pep really.

He had a dream of managing in the Premier League and Manchester United clearly didn't want him (SSN says so) he had no choice but to go to City.

    Sure...........

I don't get hung up on oil money conversation but there surely has to be a hallow feeling if this is how success is earned. Just throw money that you will never earn at it and celebrate the victory. It's all incredible.
