Yes they were different times. We were essentially a bottom two division club at the time, early into our GT 'journey'. I remember when that announcement was made thinking 'wow' myself, and what a great player he was as well.
Am i reading the Penaranda deal right, He did not want to come to us so we have loaned him out for 18 months of a 4 and 1/2 year contract ,So if one of the big clubs come calling then they will have to pay large money . i would have liked to have him in the summer but as deal between the clubs can be at any time .

The bit i was worried about was the 18 months loan . Did we think he is not ready in the next season or was it the player and his agents not want him to come to us . As they want to play for the big 10 clubs of Europe ?.The thing our owners have over other EPL clubs, is we can bring in players that can prove themselves in Spain or Italy before they come to us or the other way round .
