Congratulations to Jamie, he's just got his first call up for the Irish national team. http://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/wigan-star-mccarthy-named-in-ireland-u21-squad-2514640.html
under 21-s? still good, needs to get some chances soon or a loan would do him good, needs consistent games, looks good.
Wonder how many of them are actually English and are just playing for Ireland after finding they're 1/8th Irish on their great great great grandfathers side.
Haha, aye! Isn't JB eligible to play for Germany for that very reason? (Not that he'd ever have got that chance..)
It's a shame Kilbane realised he was eligible for Ireland, he could have been the long standing solution to Englands left sided midfield!!
It'll be good experience for the lad. As for the Killer for England shout, it was a real shame we missed out on the talents of the maestro (the car).
After a couple of games at this level, expect him to replace Killer in Trapattoni's 1st XI ..... great future head of him
JD has a lot to offer and I think there is some great football to be served from him in time to come.
If you are as as good at football as Caleb Folan then you could play for the republic of Ireland. If you were only as good at football as Caleb Folan you probably would not get to play for Hull City. Well done Jamie Devitt, keep working hard. A bright future ahead, methinks.
From what I've seen I'd rate Devitt above all of these, (and that's not slating any of them - I think they all have great potential).
