Then we'll get them in the pubs and on radio phone-ins...

Oh, I've been a ManC fan for so long.

OK, I remember seeing Mike Summerbee, Colin Bell, Neil Young, Franny Lee, etc...

    Who's that ?

Yep, so all of 5 minutes then. Get some history.

Time will tell but it will be a younger generation of football fan. Imagine signing Messi. The sale of City shirts will soar, not that I think it will happen, but just for a bit of speculation I predict they will pay a world record fee of around 90m for Harry Kane!! That will swell their fan base in the UK itself quite considerably.

And then stick him on the bench alongside various other English "talent" whilst they play top class foreigners up front ......
To be honest, if Kane has an ounce of sense he'll stay at Spurs a while longer - at least he's getting regular game time and exposure there ......
Whether he has is another matter of course .......

Yeah in fairness he does deserve great credit for that Barca team including the style etc. I just don't think it's going to be easy for him here, so many people (not on here) just assume he's gonna come in and sweep up. It's not that simple, I don't think he's been brilliant at Bayern n half the league roll over for them there. (as in Spain) you won't get that in the PL, there's also more top teams to compete with.

As I say, will be interesting. Exciting times for City fans though for sure, just in terms of who they could attract too.

There are some excellent teams in Spain besides Real Madrid and Barcelona. Atletico Madrid for example have been able to compete with the big boys for the past 3 seasons now, and that is a club that doesn't contain stella stars. Then there's Villareal and Sevilla (multi winners of the Europa League). These teams are as good as any team in the PL right now. The difference is that RM and Barca are definitely superior to the best in the EL, the PL is much more of a level playing field this season at least, so it is giving us the illusion of being much more competitive. Having said that, the end of the season will tell us if the PL is really that competitive as the usual suspects end up with the cups and league title.

It's not just this season at least though is it? The PL has always been more competitive due to the TV money being shared equally. I also highly doubt that Villareal & Sevilla, though undoubtedly good teams, are as good a team as Arsenal/City too.

Are you really trying to deny that the PL is stronger throughout than La Liga? That Eibar, Getafe, & Las Palmas are as good as say Us, Everton & Newcastle?

Edit - It must be made clear we are not talking about the top end of the table here, in Spain & Germany Pep probably had 8-10 teams who he could almost guarantee 6 points from every season and probably even play weakened sides in that game if he wanted to. No such luxury here.

Yes agreed, as the long standing ManC supporters have had many relatively lean years. In terms of progress they are the ones making the giant strides.

The Glazers hamstrung ManU by buying them through loans and then transferring the debt to the club. I thought it was a poor way of business at the time and really it is holding them back. Not that I give a ****, you understand. :)

Like you I have no sympathy with the way the Glazers are using Manchester United. Long may it continue.

Bournemouth doing well at the moment 2-1 up at Crystal Palace.

According to the BBC site, Marc Pugh's goal in the 1st half was worthy of Matt Le Tissier

If they did it, it would give every club confidence that it can be done. I worry they'll crumble as the pressure piles up - but they've only lost twice all season.
(How we didn't beat them, I have no clue!)

Bournemouth doesn't score a tonne of goals, but they seem to score more than their fair share of worldies.

Is Morgans time up at Man U? He gets dropped and they score 3 goals?

Said a similar thing the other day to people who say there isn't a chance in hell of a team like Southampton winning the league or cracking the top 4. I hope they do win it, because if I hear anyone saying nobody has a chance, bar the glamour clubs, after that I will just say Leicester City.
