I think it will depend on his fitness - he looked a yard down on pace in South Africa, but that may have been the effects of the 2 injuries (side in our summer and the calf injury sustained over there)
Cricinfo Hawkeye had him down as 83.4 - 87.0 and Broad 83.1 - 88.3 so there's not much difference. It wasn't as if he was bowling at 78/80mph. I think his fitness will depend of bowling lots of overs not less. For instance 64 overs before WI - 17 wickets at 18.00 No cricket at all for 3 weeks before New Zealand 6 wickets at 43.00 No cricket at all for 5 weeks before Ashes first two Tests 3 for 71.00 74 overs with Lancs + 12 in warm up in Pakistan 13 wickets at 15.61 2 months no cricket except 5 overs in SA - 7 wickets at 43.00
Alastair Cook's 16 runs in the first innings in Leeds leaves him on 9,980 test runs. Sri Lanka's dismal 91 and now following-on means he may have to wait until the 2nd test at Durham to reach the milestone
