Thats precisely what we would want you to do The way to play City is to press high and defend narrow, cramping the space in between the lines where Silva and Aguero look to get in behind you. We are very vulnerable, especially away from home,to high tempo pressing teams who dont allow us to play as we like ( west ham are a prime example) When you played us at the Etihad on boxing day sunderland sat back and allowed us to come at them in waves,it was so wrong tactically to play without any pace. If you recall the string of victories against us at the stadium of light, the catalyst to all of them was that your players simply wanted it more which hasnt been in evidence the last few times weve played you. team i think we will go with Hart Zabaleta Sagna Otamendi Clichy Fernandinho Delph Sterling Iheanacho Silva Aguero caballero Demichellis fernando angelino yaya navas humphreys Coming up early tonight, anywhere you can recommend for somewhere decent to eat?
Id head down to the sea front. 10 minute drive max from the ground. Unless you wanna be in the city centre.
What you reckon to Pep taking over from MP? The city fans are going mental everywhere, the amount of messages I've had attempting to rub my nose in it is unbelievable. I can see him being given a huge amount of money to spend in the summer.
Go and read the bbc gossip. Messi and everyone being linked. Plus the wages they are reported to be paying this pep is staggering.
Its probably his most difficult job hes taken on so far to be honest If we take it as read that he will play with the same style as we've seen at barca and bayern then there are many in the squad who simply wont cut it. Yaya,Kolorov.Fernando,Navas,Demichellis,Bony,Nasri,Mangala, off the top of my head will all be surpus to requirements so for a man who is only likely to stay for 3 years hes a lot of work to do and he'll need an awful lot of money, while we are still having to be mindful of the constraints of FFP which havent gone away as a lot of people think. I can understand people feeling sorry for Pellegrini but last season and this, although we are still in all 4 competitions, has been very underwhelming. Given the same opportunity i believe allardyce would have done at least as well as Pellegrini
That's exactly what it is, gossip. It sells papers to fools. Messi will never sign for Manchester City, they might get Neymar and a few others, Pogba possibly. City's biggest problem has been their lack of players who love the badge on the shirt and will bleed for the badge on the shirt. They have Kompany who'll do it, possibly Aguero and maybe Hart although he's not very good. Pep's entire philosophy requires players of that ilk, who will give everything for the club and the badge. It's what they need for sure, they need a squad like that and somebody to build it, but wholesale changes are afoot I'd imagine. They're leaving us behind, without a doubt, we've taken a wrong turn and got stuck in some deep **** and need to take our focus off the title and get it onto finding an identity.
He's not an inspiring sort of bloke is he, MP? Like I say to Comm, Pep is exactly what you need, he'll build you a squad of players who'll die for your team and that should help restore the die-hard fans back at City, those who've walked away because they no longer relate to the club and it's players. I think he's the man to get the most out of your fantastic facilities as well, he'll do what he learned at Barca, he'll have your U-10's playing the same philosophy as your first team.
i dont think its a case of getting back the die hards to be honest, the issue has been pricing people out and they get used to not going. Season card prices are relatively cheap (mine is £535 and my sons is £150) but if you cant afford them then match day ticket prices of over £40 have been like the final nail. What we havent managed to pick up is the tourists who still flock to Anfield and Old Trafford in the north west so i would presume thats what Pep will help to encourage We might be lording it over Utd on the field at the moment but in terms of an attraction for the daytripper we are not in the same parish
I'd agree with that. It takes a long time to build an empire, but I'll bet that's the aim for the owners. Winning the league won't harm mind.
We dont want to be dominated in the middle so id play.... .............Pickford........... Jones..Kone..OShea..PVA ....Rodwell..Catts..MVilla .Lens.......Defoe.....Khazri/Borini.
Drop Lens, Khazri on the right and Borini on the left for me, or if Khazri isn't quite ready play Johnson on the right.
Bugger it, chuck `em all in .............Pickford........... ........Kone..OShea...Kaboul .Jones............................PVA ........MVilla....Khazri....Catts... ............Defoe....NDoye. Get among them.
Is Kaboul fit? If so I reckon you'll be spot on with that back five although I doubt you'll see the new boy in a CM role
