Confirmed that Pep Guardiola with take over next year on a three year contract. I think I would walk out and let them get on with it if I was the manager at Man City. They are in the league cup final, in the top four in the Premier league, still in the European cup, and the F A cup. What do these owners want, it just seems that however well you do it's never enough
Totally agree, it would be interesting to see how this Pep Guardiola chap would fare at a run of the mill type club rather than being installed every time in to a club that appears to have a bottomless pit of resources. I feel sorry for Manuel Pellegrini, he has always come across to me as a top notch coach and a true gentleman to boot which is sadly lacking in today's top level.
A gentleman without question but with the squad and resources at his disposal he's underperformed without question. We are only still in with a shout for the league because of how badly everyone else has been playing and last season we were awful
He hasnt underperformed. The players have. But as you say, everyone else have been playing badly. Or have the clubs (who usually gets spanked) improved and not so easy to beat now. In Man Citys case, I think its a bit of both, players underperforming and opposition improving. But Man City will still win the league, should also win the League cup too. Sorry but that deserves recognition and a new contract. Not goodbye!
I just hope that when one of their better players say I want to leave that he will not be stopped, after all contracts in football don't seem to be of much importance. I understand that Manuel Pellegrini is out of contract in the summer but to announce that he will be leaving publicly and to state in the press that they will start the recruitment programme now because the new manager demands that all new players are in place for pre season training is insulting
May as well put Pellegrini out on garden leave and bring in Pep now so he can assess the team and get himself ready for pre season. This allows Pellegrini to still get paid until the end of his contract and a well deserved break while seeking a new job ready for pre season. I would love it if he joins Man Utd (I hate Man Utd by the way) and they beat City next season
Rumour has it that Pellegrini turned down the new contract offered as he wanted a crack at managing the only City team that matters
CJS It was rumoured that Chelsea wanted him when they resigned Jose Mourinho but he wouldn't leave the Spanish he was contracted to and Valencia could be looking for a new manager in the Summer
I wont be surprised if he gets linked. You seemed to have got Moyes and Pearson linked with you. As if that was going to happen
Wouldn't it be great if Man City and Bayern Munich were drawn to face each other in the Champions League later in the competition? That would be interesting...
