The only player I have seen us being seriously linked with is the Rotherham centre forward [Johnson something] - apart from that, nothing.

We could do a lot worse than signing George Moncur from Colchester.

We need a box to box creative midfielder and a striker as a MINIMUM today

Our current striking options [sic] are Fatakole - one Big Mac away from 6 months out, Cakienok - peaked last Saturday, and the 18 protege Lookman.

Its thinner than a Biafran's bum.

Reports on Twitter that we are in talks with ex Marseille defender Rod Fanni.

Surely we already have enough cu*ts at the club?

Assuming he is not all washed up, that would be a sensible free signing. RB cover for Solly and not expected to start many games. Should have 15 months left in him. Time for a youngster to come through or get signed, and we would not be lumbered with an expensive signing if we go down. Plenty of class, like Diarra.

We will end up saying we have the loan window next week. Usual story with us.

the clear out has begun. vaz te, moussa and williams all gone.

i read we had 43 players on the books - way too many. glad they've started this. we need to be more organised and only buy if it improves the first 11.

Vaz Te - whatever. We were a springboard back in to English football with him.

Moussa - some sympathy for him, injuries blighted his time. Ultimately, from what I saw, league one his level.

    Williams - waste.

    Another one?

We have already shipped out 22 players permanently since the end of last season, plus another seven on loan (not counting those out on loan who have since come back).

When I first started watching Charlton, we would turnover six to ten players a season at most. There were no loans then, of course. And many players would spend several seasons as "mature" reserves with only an occasional game for the first team.

These days no club intentionally employs full-time "reserves" and reserve leagues are being replaced by "development" leagues. If players cannot break into the first team once over 21 after a season or two, they move elsewhere. The only exception seems to be goalkeepers. They often stick around for a few seasons without getting many games.

Yes that was him. I liked Llera too

I wonder if these type of guys keep any sort of eye on CAFC once they have moved on and retired. Useless ponderings i know.

So, 34 year old defender Rod Fanni in on loan, along with the boy from Arsenal.

Williams, Moussa and Vaz Te are gone <cheers>

In summary, just another day in the relentless circus that Charlton has become.

I can see a case for signing the striker, although he palpably lacks the "Championship experience" that Richard Murray promised fans on 7 January.

The signing of Rod Fanni is a mystery - wasn't he playing in Qatar ? Did we scout him out there [LOL] or was he another one taken on a You Tube hunch or from a Network agent? He is very unlikely to be match fit or up to the speed of the Championship - a bit like Roger Johnson in fact, whom Riga already appears to have deemed "not good enough". We really are collecting a mish mash of journeymen and rubbish.

God forbid we do get relegated, but can you imagine going into a League One campaign next season with our current bloated squad of over 50 players ? The Club is being mismanaged from top to bottom.

You are right AHLL - its just a shame that Avory's efforts are only going to boosts Roland's wealth, rather than the Club's long term prospects.

Sergei Baltacha and Simon Clark are also doing an excellent job. The U21s have gone something like seventeen games undefeated.

What's the problem with Nick? He works at Westminster so has a habit of taking things to the exstream ..... so what?

Sounds like Sadie and Doug need to be a little more tolerant .... as long as people aren't overtly racist or sexist I'm really not that bothered.

Sadie is a nice lady - but is one of those people that is offended by anything and everything. Very PC.

Royston mocked the colour of Doug's zimmerframe and that crosses a line.
