Good news everyone! The window doesn't close until midnight in Scotland, so there is still a chance Green will get his dream move to Arbroath.
right off to bed. cannot be bothered now and the guy who told me about this striker is not ITK so reckon it's BS.
West Brom turn down £21m for Berahino. Is it just me who thinks he's a low rent Balotelli (who Milan are sending back to Liverpool at the end of the season), more trouble than he's worth? Villa wanted a keeper, a defender and a striker and got no one, see you next season chaps.
Hi Bristol City fan in peace. Its rumoured you guys have put a bid in for Wes Burns??? £3m is the figure I hear have you any information please???
Got six goals in the Premier League for one of the most God awful sides (us) ever to grace the league. In the right team, someone who's not as unbalanced as the R's, he will do well. Swansea play football, won't be surprised to see him do well there.
Looks like JFH needs to upgrade to a Range Rover an get more active ( may even get a discount if he mentions Uncle Harry ) What a crappy window. Thought we'd do a bit better than that. Very disappointing. Defence is still shot, midfield still at sea, at least Polter has an offsider with Washington DC ( should call him Mr President ) I forecast every game at 2-2 or better for the remainder of the season. At least we still have Traore, our club mascot.
Have to agree, January window used to be a time where you hope will strengthen for the rest of the season when with us it's more a case trying to get anyone off the wages even if a short term loan & then replace with a cheap, less experienced league 1 player. On the plus side if we do get relegated at all we're going to be nicely setup with the squad we're putting together.
Have to agree with that. You only have to look at the difference between us & Burnley/Hull to see how far we've fallen.
Burnley and Hull are trying to go up this year.....and in a position to. We are not. Yes we have fallen but that happened after we won the playoffs not in this window..What Arry was allowed to do that summer was pathetic and needs to be undone and restructured JFH and Hoos are trying to build a sustainable future... Give them a chance. What I ask for is a strong finish to the season...not the playoffs...7-8th that sort of thing, and a strong season next year
We could easily have been in a position to challenge to go up if had appointed the right manager + had better dealings in the summer - but that's history unfortunately. Hope I'm wrong but a sustainable future is looking like being stuck at LR with a mid-table squad.
Beth, I agree with you regarding Harry, as proven, his methods don't work. However, I did hope that we would continue the pattern of our most recent buys and get one or two more in ( defence ) I don't get to see the games and can only go by you guys on your feedback and what I read. Would I be wrong to think we needed to stiffen up our defence? I'd be more than happy to get another young gun in from the lower grades, I just dont' think what we have at present is of benefit in the big picture.
Aussie, yes the defence has stiffened....it is tons better than it was in October -November. Obviously, could do with improvement. He wants to give maximum game time to Hall and Ned (so with Angella and Hill in cover, I think that is OK...and neither Hall nor Ned really collect cards like others do) It was marked that Robinson is getting game time in the u/21, and Cole K was rather uncerimonially hooked back to HQ...Perch has had a couple of goodish matches but Konch is going down hill.. I suspect that JFH, is happy enough with what he thinks he has (Perch, Konch, Robinson, Yun, Cole K, possibly even Henry) and wants to try it out (I would be truely convinced of that argument if Furlong had been hooked back too). I am really disppointed to see Green still here...and in another way ...Phillips too (Both are here because other events did not happen...Mccarthy did not move to Fulham, Berinho did not move from WBA) But that is the only bad end of the window, perhaps Green will go to Fulham in the loan window...you never know
Our business in this window underlines the board's aspirations for the remainder of the season, which is a mid table finish. I am perfectly happy with the signings we've brought in, always good to see lower league players given a chance at a higher level. The acid test will be what happens in the summer, stick or twist?
