I think personally city before today had no chance at cl and only a 50/50 at league. I think it will be interesting for us on Feb 28 now.... pity it's so soon cos long goodbyes get worse and worse the longer into them you go.
150 wont even buy a defence given they wasted 70mins on two cbs who've looked awful players. They need an entire defence and 3 CMs 150? Add the money from sales to that.... 250mil?
Everyone knows they're rich, everyone knows they'll be looking for players- as we speak other clubs' accountants will be thinking of a number and doubling it, agents will be having their third mansions built. They'd be lucky to get John Terry and Kolo for £150m.
Doesn't he wear a Hublot like most of these that are getting dodgy football money, gifts and backhanders ?!
Basically the same reaction as matth by McCunty who cries City are now bigger than Man Utd unless they get Mourinho: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35462919
Too late, they have already got Pep. It will be interesting to see if he is good enough to earn his corn now though.
If he does, will he ever be good enough for United? Must be disappointing that he chose the smaller club over you?
He could well be, now is when we find out. City need a midfield and defence, if he sorts that out and carry's on with his record of winning leagues and CL he will prove he is good.
I just don't understand how a manager who has finished 1st in 6 out of 7 seasons he's been a manager and is well on his way to make that 7 out of 8 is even being doubted. It frustrates me that he is doubted much more than someone like Mourinho despite Mourinho having a patchy record at a lot of clubs and arguably leaving clubs a lot weaker when leaving than when he joined.
Because he has only managed teams that have at most 1 serious competitor and in leagues where only about half a dozen teams even try to beat them. In the Premier league he will find out that all teams are capable of beating any other team in the league and will not be frightened of trying to prove it. Plus he has never really rebuilt a team, yes he has replaced the odd player but at City he will need to replace 5 or 6.
Or because the two clubs he's managed are two of the best three teams in Europe. A position both were in before he joined them. Granted he made Barca better but who wouldn't when the foundations left were Messi, Iniesta and Xavi He actually made Bayern worse at first and they've just about got back to the level they were at. Credit for getting them back to that level though.
How is joining Barca when they had just finished 18 pts behind Real Madrid and in 3rd place then going on to win 2 CLs, 3 league titles, 2 Copa Del Reys and 2 Club World cups in 4 seasons keeping them at the same level. Its actually the equivalent of someone taking Arsenal from 3rd last year to winning the treble this year and then people saying wow he's managed to keep Arsenal at the same level.
I think you should read the second paragraph again mate Suarez took us from seventh to within a whisker of a title. They had Messi (the greatest ever player imo), Xavi and Iniesta! They had played together for years too Guardiola is clearly a very good manager. You don't win what he has if you're ****. However, he hasn't justified the greatest manager in the world tag (yet)
Loads of mancs very upset that Pep is on his way to City, whether they accept it or not their neighbours have more pull than them and more dosh to spend than them these days. Utd are now only a name since their talisman and former manager left and those left to keep their club up there challenging on all fronts are more interested in sponsorships than football. Long may it continue.
