    3.. Oxford............. 27...... 51
    4.. Bristol Rovers... 29...... 47
    5.. Accrington....... 25...... 45
    6.. Portsmouth...... 26...... 44
    7.. Mansfield......... 29...... 44
    8.. Wycombe......... 27...... 43
    9.. Leyton Orient... 29...... 43
    10. Wimbleon........ 28...... 42
    11. Cambridge....... 29...... 41
    12. Exeter............. 28...... 40
    13. Carlisle............ 25...... 39
    14. Notts County... 27...... 36

If all games in hand on us are won...

    Pos... Team........... Pl....... Pts
    1.. Northampton... 29...... 64
    2.. Accrington....... 29...... 57
    3.. Oxford............. 29...... 57
    4.. Plymouth......... 29...... 56
    5.. Portsmouth...... 29...... 54
    6.. Carlisle............. 29...... 51
    7.. Wycombe......... 29...... 49
    8.. Bristol Rovers... 29...... 47
    9.. Wimbleon......... 29...... 45
    10 Mansfield.......... 29...... 44
    11. Leyton Orient... 29...... 43
    12. Exeter.............. 29...... 43
    13. Notts County... 29...... 42
    14. Cambridge....... 29...... 41

Now the table dont look so good!

Up next is Wimbledon. Going by the table after all games in hand are played, if we lose vs Wimbledon then the table will look worse.
Then Wycombe. If we lose that then they will push further ahead and all of a sudden we are far away from 7th.

I know these teams have to win ALL their games in hand and the chances are not ALL will do so but worst case scenario...... It doesnt look good!

I think the best we can hope for is 7th place (something I would of taken at the start of the season) I think our squad is good enough to go up automatically but we just don't score enough a problem we all know we've had for years.

I would have taken 10th-12th before the season started.

However, after beating Oxford away, I would be disappointed if we failed to get into the top 7. 10th-12th would be a poor finish considering where we was after the Oxford game.

Its not over yet, we have 17 games to play = 51 points to play for. We have to hit form again to stand a chance and hope some of the teams with games in hand, slip up a few times, especially when they face us again.

A dose of realism there CJS....but we know that teams with games in hand seldom
all pick up maximum points; so my guess is that if we'd all played the same number
we would still be in the top seven.
Realistically I reckon we will get a play-off place, but if we don't then go up I can see
DC having to rebuild the team; with so many players being at the end of their contracts
and some of them attracting interest from higher league teams.

You beat me to it by working out the revised 'Games in hand ' table. Was in the process of sorting it but you've saved me the effort now! I tend to think we would have gladly taken 7th - 10th at the start of this season, particularly after our poor start. I have thought for a while that those poor results might come back to haunt us and it looks as though they may. Having said that, we all know how fixture congestion can play havoc with teams aspirations and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if the likes of Wycombe, Accrington and Oxford all wobble a bit having to play games in quick succession. All we need is another patch of bad weather to snarl things up even further (we've still got a couple of wintery months to get through yet) and who knows how things might change. Despite all this though, as others have said, our constant lack of goals continues to be a worry. My personal opinion is that we will make the play-offs (just) but as we are all used to, its going to be a wobbly last third of the season with many highs and lows. Watch this space!!

If we don't get promoted then we will be supporting Bristol Rovers Strangers next season,
Who do people see staying if we don't get promoted
    My selection would be
Mildy possibly James & Ollie Clarke Montano Bodin Gaffney with the rest either leaving for other clubs in the same or higher divisions or just not being offered contracts

Not all the games in hand will be won, and some of these teams will have to play each other anyway. So it looks as though we'll still be in the top seven to be honest.

A few have said you reckon we will still finish top 7.

For the record, I dont think we will. So im prepared for it. If we manage it then happy days. But if we dont then im ready for it. So while a few of you will be very disappointed, I will be prepared and will be your voice of reasoning <ok>:)

I'm just delighted with where we are in the table and am not becoming any way worried when we lose the odd game. It's just great to be at the right end of the table and wherever we end up it would be more than satisfactory as far as I'm concerned.

Sorry guys. Show a bit of optimism.
I posted these fixtures a week ago for what at the time were the top five clubs. There are so many games for the promotion candidates to play each other, games in hand will only be a partial issue for whoever finishes in the top seven. Every team involved has it in their own hands to decide the end table! Rovers are the best team there. We will walk it!!

    FEB 13 PORTSMOUTH V ROVERS
    16 OXFORD V NORTHAMPTON
    16 PORTSMOUTH V PLYMOUTH

    20 NORTHAMPTON V WYCOMBE
    20 OXFORD V ACCRINGTON
    27 WYCOMBE V ROVERS
    MAR

    5 PLYMOUTH V OXFORD
    12 ACCRINGTON V PLYMOUTH
    APR

    9 NORTHAMPTON V ROVERS
    23 PORTSMOUTH V WYCOMBE
    30 ACCRINGTON V WYCOMBE

Sorry Sapph, you know I respect the hell out of you and all members on here. But I have to disagree with your comment. We wont walk it. Yes 51 points still available so everyone has a chance. But all teams above and below are able to score consistantly at the moment and we are struggling to score goals. Until this is rectified, its going to be tough. Certainly not 'we will walk it'. Im all up for optimism Sapph, so I hope you are right. But I just cant see it <ok>

At the beginning of the season I thought it would be between us and Oxford for the top two places...

Portsmouth couldn't claim that he sneaked in for that goal in that strip lets hope if we are in the same position in a couple of weeks that we pick him up in a more positive fashion than Portsmouth did

I think only Portsmouth and Accrington will be above us when their games in hand have been played. But even Accrington will have their work cut out with a small squad.
