Must be something about the #4 - they're the only ones not right yet! Will let you stew for a while longer <laugh>

    How about these?

    1. Three switches at the top of the stairs outside a cellar door each operate one of three lights inside the cellar. If you can only go through the door once, how can you tell which switch operates which light?

    2. A businessman buys rice for 50p per pound from growers in Indonesia, then sells it on it India for only 10p per pound. He still manages to become a millionaire – how?

    3. A man pushed his car until he reached a hotel. When he got there, he immediately knew that he was bankrupt. How?

    4. A woman gave birth to two boys, who were born in the same place, on the same day, in the same hour and only minutes apart - yet they weren’t twins. How could this be?

    5. Two sons and two fathers go to the cinema together to watch a new film. They all see the same 8pm showing together, they sit together in the front row, yet they only bought three tickets. Why?

    Missing answers:

    4. Why do some people dial 000 with their index finger and others with their middle finger? To contact Emergency Services <laugh>

    4. Three pupils are asked by their teacher to select four numbers under ten and multiply them together. Even though they didn’t all pick the same numbers, they all got the same answer. How? They all selected zero as one of their numbers - so their answers were all zero.

    Rhodri the Farmer

Rhodri Probert, an elderly Welsh farmer, received a letter from the Department for Work & Pensions, stating that they suspected he was not paying his employees the statutory minimum wage and they would send an inspector to interview them.

On the appointed day, the inspector turned up. "Tell me about your staff," he asked Rhodri.

"Well," said Rhodri, "there's the farm hand, I pay him £240 a week and he has a free cottage.

Then there's the housekeeper. She gets £190 a week, along with free board and lodging.

There's also the half-wit. He works a 16 hour day, does 90% of the work, earns about £25 a week, along with a bottle of whisky and as a special treat occasionally gets to sleep with my wife."
"That's disgraceful," said the inspector, “I need to interview the half-wit."
"That'll be me then," said Rhodri.

You flick switch A on and leave it for a min, then you flick switch B on and open the door. The light linked to switch A will be off but hot, light B will be on and light C will be off and cold.

It also can work if you start going into negative numbers but all 3 would have to pick the same digits - I'm not going to explain any further, it's too late for that!

#2 Having done Chemical Engineering at Uni, I'd say he uses the Imperial (International) pound for buying and the metric pound for selling but there is only a 46g difference so it'll take him a while..
