GK: Hart, Butland, Forster DEF: Clyne, Walker, Smalling, Cahill, Stones, Jagielka, Bertrand Shaw/Rose* MID: Henderson, Delph, Barkley, Delle Alli, Milner, Wilshere/Dier* FWD: Rooney, Kane, Vardy, Sterling, Walcott, Lallana Would take Shaw & Wilshere if both were back n fit enough, but as it stands would be the 2 from Spurs.
... why on earth would we now take James Milner? ... our own Danny Drinkwater, James Ward-Prowse, Ryan Mason, Jesse Lingard surely more worthy causes ...
A very young squad so Milner gets in to add a bit of experience/versatility. Ward Prowse isn't ready yet, same as Mason and Lingard - Isn't Lingard more attacking anyway? The only one out of that bunch who I'd consider is Drinkwater but if I'm perfectly honest I haven't watched enough of him to put him in mine, doesn't mean I'd be against it though
Woy was at our game aganst Liverpool last might ... irrespective of a wonderful striker display from Jamie Vardy, the name that Woy should be underklining in his little notebook is Danny Drunkwater ... if he doesn't make the next England squad in his current form then Woy loses all (remaining) credibility ...IMHO
Is Drunkwater a more inebriated version of Drinkwater? And, are they related? I think we should be told!
I'm afraid Rooney is now playing well enough to give Woy the excuses he needs to select him. I'm not saying that's right or wrong, I'm just saying. Of course he won't have the luxury of being able to pick the exceptional Tony Martial to do Rooney's running for him.
No England manager will ever get my vote of confidence until he comes out and states, unequivocally, that Rooney is not good enough to pull on the shirt. When Rooney plays, it's space wasted in the team.
Woy could still save face by playing Rooney in the hole behind a front 2 of Kane and Vardy with Walcott and Sterling out wide - Drinkwater would be ideal as a more defensively minded midfielder protecting the back four ... Dier and Smalling as the central defensive partnership with 2 pacey full backs ... I'd even pay to see that team (although if I'm completely honest, Dele Alli should get the nod over Wayne on form and consistency) ...
They'd get overrun in midfield with that team. Drinkwater almost on his own in midfield - no chance. Kane up front on his own, with Vardy to come on and run the defence ragged after 60 minutes.
... we can't go into every game needing to score in the last 30 minutes ... you need to have Vards on from the start .. he runs'em ragged for the full 90
Surely, Vardy is only going to be used if England are going to play Leicester's chip-and-rush style of football? If Roy intends to play a more patient, sophisticated game, Kane has to get the nod.
... you do talk some crap Bellenda ... does make me wonder how much football you actually watch ... ... some highlights for you from last night - to save you some time go to 10:00 and watch the move that should have resulted in a penalty ... chip-and-rush at it's best
