BIg loss and as a whole in his Arsenal career. Promised so much but failed to live up to his potential due to injuries.

Isco to come in and replace him now rather than the summer? :1980_boogie_down:

Dissapointed for Rosicky as this may well be the end of his career with us. Great player plagued by injury after injury.

Hopefully Wilshere and Cazorla aren't out for longer than expected and we don't pick up any key injuries as I don't want to see Flamni or Arteta starting again this season.

Wenger said we would likely only bring someone in if a player went out, I wonder if this injury to Rosicky will make us consider bringing someone else in? I'm not sure as I doubt Rosicky played a huge part in our plans anyway but who knows!

Wilshere is Rosicky 1.0, just as injury prone, but sadly, not as good a player when actually fit. Rosicky when fit used to turn games around for us, he usually played a big part in the second half of the season helping us secure top 4 when things weren't looking good.

Yeah he's been a really useful squad player for us over the years.

Seriously??? I mean WTF! That is really harsh, just when we thought we'd get to see a bit more of the Little Mozart again before the end of his career and this happens. It's ridiculous that he doesn't even manage a full game before getting Crocker again, and it's diaby-like cruel way to end his career.

Serious question lads, how much longer do we give Wilshere? Has all the potential but can't stay fit at all. Are we looking at another Darren Anderton? Seriously I can't stand another Diaby/Rosicky situation again where the player stays most of their time in the injury room. Rosicky may have played more than Diaby, but he went through large potions of his career injured, with most of that during his peak. But the cynical side of me tells me is we will persevere with Wilshere regardless, as he helps to sell a shed load of shirts.

That's a place in our 25 man squad that's effectively been stricken off this season. Was secretly hoping for that Feb/March burst of Rosicky 'awesome-o power' that tricks us every season into thinking he'll be key...right up until his next injury. So frustrating as, when fit, he really helps give purpose to the squad. Still love the little dude.

Plus, lest we forget, his thunderc*nting goals vs the spuds. Glorious.

I was hoping the same thing to as he offers so much in the heart of our midfield. What a sad end to his career....

To be fair on Rosicky and Wilshere. Some of their injury problems come from Arsenal mis-managing their treatments. So the Club is partly responsible for them.

With Wilshere if I remember correctly..

    • Ankle injury - required surgey. Club opted against. (In the hope he could recover naturally).
    • Came back - ankle injury returns. Surgery required.
    • Had Surgery on ankle.
    • Physios/Club medical staff decide to keep screws/metal in ankle in the hope it adds extra support. Returns to first team after rehab.
    • Screws are causing pain when he runs.
    • Has surgery to remove screws.
    • Returns to first team after re-hab.
    • Re-injures ankle.
It seems we mis-manage these players more than anything.

If you take the case of Robin Van Persie. It was only when he hired his own strength and conditioning coach that he had a prolonged period without injury.

Well there comes a time when they have to put their hands up and identify it as a major problem. We can't go into season after season with players that are unable to contribute due to injuries. Yes they do occur but some of our absentees are ridiculous. We now have the funds to fix this issue, but sometimes we need to be ruthless, whether it's the medical staff, or injury prone players. I'm fed up of our perennial injury excuses.

I see it the other way though. We need to find the source of the problems and fix them.

Not **** on the likes of Wilshere who has been nothing but loyal to this Club.

Exactly, we could discard Wilshere and buy another player like Isco but then whose to say that we don't break him as well (remember Vermaelen barely got injured before joining us, now he's barely played for the last 3 years).

With RVP he was constantly injured for us, but as soon as we ship him out he wins United the title!

Who is trying to sh1t on Wilshere? I would like nothing better for him to make it, but there comes a time when you have to think about plans without a player, no matter how many times he kisses the badge. Also, the last time I checked, he wasn't getting paid to play for free, he's a millionaire courtesy of Arsenal, playing for one of the best teams in Europe. There are way too many excuses coming out from the Management and it tells me that they are hiding something major about him. But this is a business and they wouldn't want it to come out that one of England's best players is a crock, it just wouldn't make good business sense.

Firstly, Wilshere has been constantly injured for most of his career and continues to get injured on a regular basis, it's got to the point that the management can't give a proper time frame on his return. As for RVP, that is a ridiculous comparison. RVP was an established world class striker that was banging them in left right and centre, there was no bloody suprise that he would have made a big impact with manure. Wilshere has a lot to prove and is still due for a breakthrough season. If he came back now he wouldn't make it the first 11 if everyone is fit.

Let's not forget that Wilshere is out with a broken leg,it has nothing to do with past problems with his ankle

What I meant was that players may be world class or much less injury prone for other clubs, so we turf out one of our players and bring in that player, but that is no guarantee that player will stay fit (look at Vermaelen and Debuchy). I used RVP as an example, not of a poor player becoming good - that definitely wasn't the case - he was already a good player for us, but of a player who'd had lots and lots of injury problems with us, yet goes to Man U and has almost 18 months injury free and it enables them to win the league, it wasn't as if he went there and spent the majority of his time in the physio room.

What I'm saying - If we screwed him up by mis-managing his injuries we can at least try and get him fit again.

Besides Wenger is clearly a big fan of Wilshere I think he will stay at Arsenal long term.
