Unless Defoe is lined up for Bournemouth if this happens :emoticon-0112-wonde

There might be a few permutations like this today :emoticon-0105-wink:

I think Remy is 6 foot plus so he's tall enough for that role but really he's more of a Defoe type player making those darting runs.

Maybe it would work as a partnership if they were both on the same wavelength. To be honest though if I was Remy I would want to move to a club higher placed in the table.

I'm strangely amused that the money we paid for Khazri has probably been used by Bordeaux to out bid us on Debuchy :emoticon-0102-bigsm

    Breaking News.

Fletch on his way to France for Marseilles talks.

Who's in the area? Who we could bring in? Isn't Rhodes on his way to boro for talks? #hijack?

If Fletcher is off to Marseille we must have a replacement lined up.

I hope we're trying for Remy personally.

    I think you're right, Sam isn't daft.

My pick would be Rhodes but of course I'd be happy with Remy.

Don't understand Rhodes personally, not worth the risk or money for someone who's only ever done it at Championship level.

For the £10m quoted we should go for someone who's been there & done it.

Remy all day long for me as less of a gamble providing BSA can get the right system for him and Defoe. My 2nd choice would be Gomis who would be great for Defoe. Rhodes would do as a last resort but he might think Boro more likely to be playing top flight football next season than us..

Sunderland’s Steven Fletcher has flown to Marseille for talks over a transfer from the Stadium of Light to the Stade Velodrome.

Davide Santon has rejected a proposed return to Newcastle United on loan from Internazionale but the full back would be prepared to make a comeback if a permanent deal can be agreed. Right now though that looks a little unlikely - although Steve McClaren does need a left back.

Boro and Jordan Rhodes talking again but suggestions Watford might be set to attempt an 11th hour hi-jack.

I agree it is a bit of a risk and it might be wiser to go with experience in our situation.

My personal opinion is that Rhodes would score well in the Prem but until someone takes the risk we'll never know.

Just to avoid disappointment I've already summed up our day for later on:

"Sunderland were linked with the likes of Remy & Robinho, but had to settle for Joey O'Brien at the last minute as the door slammed shut..."

His style of football is the opposite to what we play, Heynkes' Bayern is the style we are traditionally used to, pulsating, fast attacking football, not pass and move, pass and move. Guardiola to me is the Kanye West of football, he just believes his own hype way too much, he thinks he's untouchable. He treated the Bayern doctors/physios like **** and publicly humiliated them.

For me, I think I'd like Pochettino now that Ancelotti is away to Bayern.

If Spurs qualify for Champs league i can't see pochetino leaving tho. And surely yr current manager who is a fruit cake will be gone in the summer. That would leave Mourinho as one of the only options. How would you feel about that?!

I'd feel better about that than I would about Pep Guardiola being our manager.

The only realistic manager I'd opt for Pep over is Rafa Benitez, I'd probably cut my own head off if he was given the job.
