Remember the first time i saw one. It was like looking into the future. Best on the market or is there better these days?
Depends what market you're in. Mainstream, I reckon they've got it, high-end and classy, always will be. Then you get into niche markets, upmarket hotels and such... Naim produce systems that, price-wise blows B&O out of the water, that's just one. For audio quality, personally I've never heard anything like B&O but I find their designs a bit too futuristic now, their old stuff looked amazing.
Guess its a bit like the watch market. Bang and oulefsen would be your rolex. Fantastic watches and high end. But then you have specialist like Patek Phillipe. Expensive as **** and imo ****ing aweful.
Bang & Olufsen are your Franck Muller of the watch world, classy, not chavvy like Rolex. Then you've got your next level **** like your Van Cleef & Arpels Midnight Planetarium.
What about cats and dogs? I mean which daft ****ers would ever post on a thread like that? Tropical fish maybe a goer though.
All this gear deteriates with use and you dont notice it until you replace it again, I bought a surround system from Aldi for £30 and at times it sounds phenominal its also quite neat in appearance its all down to perception.
I've never been one for having all the latest gadgetry. By the time I got a cd player, everybody else had moved on to MP3's.
Agreed. Everything boils down to preference and affordability. What one person deems something is worth it another will disagree. Your 30 quid aldi system is fine for you. It does the job. Me personally, i wouldnt spend 5k on a bang and oulfsen system. But i can understand why someone would. I spent 160 quid on a bottle of brandy at xmas. A 20 bottle would have had the same effect just not as nice imo. People just spend in different ways.
