Enjoy the success. Our squad is better equipped for a cup run and title challenge than anyone else.

Watching the Akpom interview and his celebrations yesterday it's obvious how much he likes scoring goals, which I guess is why he comes across as having a bad attitude sometimes.

Next round Peterborough or Shrewsbury away for me, both ground ticks for me

I am and I agree that it is. I just worry looking at the run of fixtures we'll have with midweek matches re-arranged for the cup and TV. Our promotion competitors will have it easier, & promotion is by far the number one priority. I'm a Hull City supporter - I'm not happy unless I've got something to worry about!!

Shrewsbury away was always a brilliant day out, I believe the new ground is yet another soulless out of town place; the away end, with the low roof at Peterborough is now all seater. Anyone who complained about being cold at Bury can't have been at Peterborough in 2013 for the one all draw ............. now that was ****in' cold!

It was colder yesterday, at least at Peterborough we kept warm having snowball fights.

At least the rearranged games so far are all home games. Should we continue to progress, the quarter finals are also on the weekend of a home game (MK Dons) and the semi-finals the weekend of the TWS game. This, of course, could all be immaterial in a few weeks anyway!

I was certainly colder at Peterborough, it didn't help though that I'd left my woolly hat at home and had to walk from where we'd parked the car to buy another from the Posh club shop - I never got warm again until I was halfway down the A46!

Before the emergence of Hayden I would possibly be worried about two games in a week but as it stands Bruce is rotating the midfield as he should, which was something that was costing us until this year. 2016 looking like a decent year for us City fans again now

In general I'm not a fan of putting the brakes on & going into a defensive mode with substitutions in critical league games when we are ahead, as did happen last season and occasionally this season.
But yesterday's match was a situation where we were in control, 3-0 up against a lower league team in a cup match that winning potentially may well distract us from the important business - the push for promotion.

Bruce has a tricky management conundrum on his plate - keeping his deep squad happy and match fit in case of injury for the main objective. It's a hell of a balancing act.
He may have(?) absorbed all the previous criticism about substitutions in winning positions (which he has blown before admittedly), and learnt from that. Recent league results may indicate that lessons have been learnt somewhat.
My (somewhat sarcastic) response to the bleating ("doom & gloom" may have been OTT terminology) about the late subs in the Bury game was an attempt to suggest that in the bigger scheme of things many comments on here were misdirected and didn't assess the game situation & potential impact for the long run. Bringing Clucas, Maquire & Hayden on quite late was an astute tactical & team togetherness move in my opinion. He brought off a rookie (Tyman - after a good run out & blooding), a fringe player (Aluko - he may have regained some confidence from his contribution in the game) and Diomande (a player recovering from injury who may well be important for the promotion run-in should Hernandez get injured or his form falters).

Those factors seem to escape many on this thread who decried Bruce for the substitutions.

The cups have gone well for us this season.

Last 8 in the League Cup.
Last 16 in the FA Cup so far.
Top of the league too (just throwing that in there).

Life is good at Hull City.

Cold ? That was tropical compared to a Tuesday night at Witton Albions ground to see us play Runcorn in the FA Cup. Minus 10, thick freezing fog, thick frost on the terraces ( with no roof) and on the crush barriers.
How many on here were there?
What was unique about our goal scorer ?

    Christian Chuffing Hargreaves.

Equally as cold as Witton was our first visit to Milton Keynes in about 2005, at the old Hockey Stadium. It was a night match and clearly should never have started, the pitch was a skating rink. Ex-City keeper (and future Tory council candidate) Matthew Baker was in goal for them. I think Delroy Facey might have scored - hopefully he had a bet on himself that night.

taking someone off with 5 minutes to go and bringing someone else on is more likely to piss people off rather than make them feel together as a team

I would go along with that though Hartlepool at any time of the year before they built their 'best stand ' was always freezing with the wind blowing directly into the ground from the North Sea

Why bring Aluko off, he was keeping them busy up the other end of the pitch, he's not going to figure in the next game, there was absolutely no benefit in withdrawing him, it was a poor decision, hence the criticism.
