What to expect from Queens Park Rangers in the final hours of the January transfer window

Rangers have just over 24 hours to complete any permanent deals, or they will have to wait until the emergency loan window opens

Eyes on the signings: Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink
The January transfer window closes at 11pm on February 1 and QPR are expected to be active on deadline day.

Charlie Austin was sold to Southampton for £4 million but Rs have add-ons that could take the deal for their top striker to £8m - double what they paid for him.

Striker Conor Washington was a £2.5m signing from Peterborough as Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink returns to his League One beginnings.

Sandro has moved on loan to West Brom and therefore the Hoops only paying a part of the Brazilian midfielder’s £40k-a-week wages

Rob Green will run down his £40k-a-week deal so another contract fails to materialise should he play 30 times for Hoops. Matt Ingram joined from Wycombe Wanderers to provide competition for Alex Smithies.

Steven Caulker has joined Liverpool on loan but without stepping foot again in Loftus Road after his spell with Southampton was cut short

Ben Gladwin went on loan to Bristol City - the midfielder’s second of the season so far, while Michael Doughty has gone loan to Swindon, where Gladwin played earlier in the campaign

They now have just over 24 hours to complete any permanent deals, or they will have to wait until the emergency loan window opens.

Below is a handy guide of what we can expect to happen ahead of the 11pm deadline.

    Bid accepted: Nasser El Khayati

Rs have had a £350,000 bid for Burton Albion forward Nasser El Khayati accepted by the League One leaders.

The Dutchman, 26, played under Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at Burton and has scored 11 goals in 44 appearances since joining the Brewers a year ago.

A statement on the Burton official website read: “Burton Albion striker Nasser El Khayati is in talks with Championship QPR after the two clubs agreed a fee for the 26-year-old.

“If the player agrees personal terms he will be reunited with former Brewers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink who brought him to the Pirelli Stadium in January 2015.

“El Khayati did not feature in today's (Saturday's) Albion game at Rochdale as the transfer negotiations progressed.”

Rangers could still yet move in the transfer market to bolster their squad if there were further departures.

    Heads up:Matt Phillips challenges

Matt Phillips has been linked with West Bromwich Albion, but a second shift to The Hawthorns appears a long shot.

Rob Green has also been tipped to make a departure but it is doubtful due to his current situation at the club.

The Rs shot-stopper has been told he will be used only in emergency, and even then can play in just four more games.

That's because a fifth would trigger a new contract for 30 appearances. And because the 36-year-old is one of the club's last high earners, Rs have called time on his future at Loftus Road.

Armando Traore, Samba Diakité, and possibly Yun suk-young are all open to offers from other clubs, but there is a slim chance of that too.

Joe Lumley could make a loan move to Wycombe, who lost goalkeeper Alex Lynch to injury at Plymouth on Saturday and 46-year-old coach Barry Richardson took his place.

Defoe and Jet up front would be a dream team and worth at least 30+ goals a season...

TBH i cannot see the point of bringing in players as we won't be challenging so save the money and buy next season.

Sort of agree as long as we are not letting the likes of Phillips, Ned or too many of our best go. But bringing in the likes of Washington now is good, as hopefully it helps to build something better for the next few seasons.
