The Jounalists were discussing this today as well, saying that the player wants a move to Spurs who wont match the Mags offer, but WBA would take that money now, so it looks like a bit of a stand off, with the player digging his heels in. Interesting.
It seems to be the going rate this window, after all he has more goals in him than Ayew, and is English and younger. And Ayew is no Steve Bull.
I hope McClown`s good at counselling. He`s going to need to be. He`s picking up some dodgy attitudes.
It is strange, I don't see much wrong with them going forward I'd rather have 2 10 million pound defenders than a 20 million moody forward
Must admit I`m a bit surprised at that mind. Unless he thinks they can score their way out of trouble.
Mags are struggling with defending and scoring goals, they've failed to adequately address either, despite two windows and the best part of 100m spent. They can't be surprised at the mess they're in.
Just shows that famous Mag delusion is running strong. Certainly for some quarters. The more football savy on their board haven't been drawn into a false sense of security.
Goal scoring more so than defending. I have often felt that our defence (while it isn't the best) was not helped out by such a weak central midfield. Players like Anita and Colback aren't strong enough or defensive enough to help out or cover. We look much better defensively with Tiote in the side but he appears to not be wanted or is now a permacrock! Shelvey and Saivet seem to have helped somewhat in that regard to be fair but they have just joined so time will tell. If Remy (my choice) had the chances that Mitrovic had, he would have had a hat full. Berahino is a non starter for me. I reckon he would get the goals for us but he seems disinterested in joining. Massive alarm bells. A left back is definitely required. I don't mind Dummet in the centre as he seems canny there but we really, really need a left back. We were linked with a lad from Atletico Madrid but he appears to have dumped us for Valencia . Fair cop really.
It's money saved up through not spending in the past windows. Throughout our time with MA as manager I think we have, to date, a net spend of £60million. I bet Short has spent more than that, net.
According to sky the newcastle bid has been rejected - stoke have at least matched the 21mill and are now in talks with west brom
