Nice to see someone gets it. Got to blame Bruce for something anything. As I keep saying it's something he does. And it works a lot more than it doesn't. Qpr did it.we won. Burnley did it we won. Go back over the season and see how many times he does it.
Deffo lightening on drive home and impressive at filling the whole sky. Suspect you will not be getting a pack of tickets. The hail was impressive - how did it know to wait until the walk back to the car before dropping like that. Was too busy laughing at how wet my head was getting and promptly ploughed into the massive puddle at the gates as you left the front car park to enter the road. Wet head and wet feet but good result.
It's got nothing to do with wanting to blame Bruce for something, it's just unnecessary and irritating. Airlie is right, we did get too casual and Elmo ****ed up, but individual mistakes are a completely different issue to unnecessarily inviting pressure onto ourselves at the end of games. What makes it really daft, is having made the changes that put us under pressure, Bruce often makes reference to how hairy it was hanging on at the end to see the game out. Does he seriously not see the correlation?
Youngster scores a Cup hat trick today. First one a tap in, second a penalty after an intervention from the captain, third a decent finish on the break. That was Iheanacho for Manchester City.
QPR we won! Yeah but only after we scored again. They only equalised in the first place once we'd gone into full retreat. We're miles better than we make ourselves look by doing this. It's cost us way too many late goals. It didn't matter today but it's happened yet again. Next time it might matter, but it simply doesn't need to happen at all.
I just bought two lottery tickets. I won the jackpot with one of 'em. I won 2nd prize with the other. I'm pissed off I didn't buy a third ticket & win the 3rd prize. I blame Bruce. Bruce out.
Sounds like the upcoming US election. Oh ****, now I'll get sent off for mentioning politics. Shouldn't do that when I'm on nine yellows for not bending over for the Fokkers after my arse.
Its not "doom and gloom mongering" TC. I'm still backing us for automatic promotion, am delighted that we're in first place, and have the best squad we've ever had in my memory. Kudos to Bruce for putting that together. But the reality is that his one tactical hangup, delusion, or whatever you want to call it, cost us dearly last season and may still do so again this year. You dont have to be a pessimist, or a congenital "doom monger" to recognise that. Its a reality and I just wish he'd make us all rest easier at the end of the games by not repeating it.
I can half understand why he does it because we are excellent defensively but the problem with it is it makes players nervous and puts us on the back foot. We shouldn't be giving teams a chance to have a go at us at any stage. I hope Bruce goes at the end of the season on a high because in the Prem we won't get away with it and we didn't last time.
Sorry if this has been posted already but I thought Chuba comes over very well in this, explains himself very well, David Burns doing his job well too
Thought the team did well yesterday given the conditions. For parts of the second half, the gulf in class was evident and we played some nice stuff. Daws was a calm head in defence when things were getting a bit edgy and Tymon had a tidy debut. The end of the game was certainly a lot more nervous than it should have been. Luckily, it was probably 10 minutes too late as Bury neither had the level of skill or composure to make us pay but we shouldn't have finished on the ropes like we did. Think the team and manager need to share the blame for that. Not sure that the Aluko substitution was really necessary. 3-0 up and cruising and Aluko having a good game, there seemed little point in changing it. The team certainly shouldn't have conceded late on but it did seem to be an unnecessary change from Bruce. It something I hope he doesn't try next week as it changed the outlook of the side yesterday.
Whilst part of me is pleased that we're still in the cup, I can't help thinking that our promotion competitors will also be pleased. We are the only team in the top half of the Championship still left in.
It seems our squad is strong enough to handle it though so maybe not as big as worry as some of us thought
I'm really in two minds over this. Part of me wishes we didn't have the complication of another re-arranged midweek league match, but the other part is looking forward to the FA cup draw & seeing who we get!!
