Typical Wycombe lose at home to Morecambe away at fourth from bottom Hartlepool, then go away & beat the team in second with a 46 year old goalkeeper who has'nt played a game in years. There is one thing it is never dull supporting Wycombe. That said we needed this win to keep us in touch we were in danger of slipping away. Well done the team.
Plymouth fan in peace. Suffice it to say you're not exactly flavour of the month on PASOTI! www.pasoti.co.uk
Can I say that I don't want to fall out with you lads and as you know I have a bit of a soft spot for Wycombe. You may not like what's coming but I have to say it honestly as I see it having watched the match today/ Your team were a disgrace. It wasn't football it was a mugging both by your players and manager. They were ably abetted by a Referee who was so inept and biased towards your team it was unbelievable. Your goal should never have stood and wouldn't have with any other Ref but this one. There was so much wrong with it I wouldn't know where to start. Once in front your players lay down as much as possible and wasted so much time it was embarrasing. This was litterally from a minute after you had been allowed your goal. Note a total of 14 minutes extra time which even then didn't come close to what should have been. This was not wholely down to the Keeper being injured. The Referee gave you every decision going and gave us nothing at all. He gave you advantages often but never once brought the play back for us. If ever there was an enquiry into match fixing I would not be shocked if this game was one of them. Sorry but your side were the worst team I have seen here all season and I genuinely believe that if we had scored the officials would have found a way to discount it. I promise you this isn't sour grapes just because we lost. I note Ron's post above this one and hope you don't hold this against me and repeat I don't want to fall out with you guys. Sorry chaps.
I understand the ref was a disgrace Greeny. The Wycombe commentators were saying it too. I don't think it helped that your strikers had their boots on the wrong feet. Naturally we are happy to get much needed 3 points after our recent bad run, so don't spoil it too much. We've seen all the foul mouthed comments on FB which, to be honest, are a bit upsetting.
I don't do foul mouthed comments Ron and I haven't written anything to spoil your day I've just written what I saw. I think if you had witnessed what I did today and it had been the other way around you might have been a tad agrieved. I wish it was just the Ref who was a disgrace and it would make it easier to swallow if it had been both ways but neither would be true. Your team were shocking. The Referee was worse than incompetent one way. Your Manager refused to shake hands with our's at the end and given he is responsible for tactics as well makes him a poor specimen. Why he should feel uptight about our manager given what he got away with all afternoon is beyond me. Don't worry though, I'd still buy you a beer if we met up. Just don't wear your football shirt......
Hello Ron hope you are ok I am posting a link which doesn't show everything that the Plymouth fans are aggrieved about but the end of the video will show why the Argyle fans feel about your manager as they do.
Must be serious for Mrs J to come out of hiding...... That's the first time I've seen that myself and have to wonder what on earth Ainsworth was trying to achieve there. As far as I can see he was offered a hand and then kicked off for what appears to be nothing. He must have been happy with the match as everything was given to his side despite the theatrics and time wasting.
Doesn't look good but it's pretty obvious your manager said something to incense ours. Thing is our manager is honest and open for all to see. I would love to know what was said but you can bet your life your manager made some derogatory comment(s) to draw a reaction like that. I don't think you should draw conclusions about our manager based on that as we can't hear what was said to cause the incident.
Sorry Ron but I've just watched this again on full screen and it is quite clear that Ainsworth is having a go from the outset when Adams is yards away. Ainsworth is pushing Adams and appears to be clearly trying to provoke a reaction. I can't see where it is obvious or otherwise Adams said or did anything. You are making an assumption on the basis of defending your man without any evidence to back anything up. Not blaming you particularly but just because you think Ainsworth is "a nice bloke" doesn't make him innocent here. To be honest that incident sort of summed up the way the afternoon went. If you could witness the whole 120 minutes (yes it took that long) then you might have a different viewpoint. I would hope I am honest enough to say and admit when Argyle have been at fault. I will even condemn diving and if a penalty is more than soft. I am a bit tinted of course but can't and won't defend the indefensible. I think we will have to agree to disagree and move on. AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE PENALTY......
Agreed. If I hear what incensed him I'll let you know. It may not be what you want to hear though. I think I'll close the thread later. Let's move on and best wishes for promotion
Good video Sensible: 100% coverage of the period when the ball was actually in play I think due to Wycombe's black arts. The referee had no control over the game whatsoever: had there been a decent set of officials it's unlikely Wycombe would have got anything from this game apart from a bucketful of yellow cards. Having been an Argyle fan for longer than I care to admit, I've seen some bad games but that travesty from Wycombe takes the all-time record. What Gareth Aisworth had to complain about I have no idea. He should be thanking his lucky stars Mr. Gibbs was given this match.
So if someone made a snide remark to you about your wife or mother to make you want to take their head off, but onlookers only saw you venting your feelings, you would deserve to be criticised? Not saying that has happened but I suspect that as it was our manager and captain (who Adams pushed) involved, Adams must have made derogatory comments about our team. I'm just trying to get some perspective here. We have known Gareth for years and this has not been heard of. There is no way Adams is innocent in this. You can't make a judgement on what you saw on a video of a few seconds after the game.
