If he didnt he would of given up a long time ago. Do you really think Sven is going all out for someone who doesnt want to sign for us. Dont kid yourself, Sven and Maynards agent will have been in contact

I think a few journo's may need sacking if Maynard has been quoting his love for BCFC recently and there's not a mention in the local rag today!

whilst I do want us to sign a quality striker I think we're all overlooking the fact that it wasn't our goals for column that was the problem last season.

We were the 5th highest scorers in the league with 76 goals, five more than QPR and seven more than Swansea, the problem was we let in 71 and only the bottom four conceded more.

We've now added Danns and Nugent and also Mills and St Ledger who will pop up with a few too so this whole thing about needing a 20+ goal man isn't overly essential!!

    Bored of it all now!!

I do agree with Arro, the need for a 20+ goal striker is not an essential need, it's just a desire. Let's face it, with our defence as it is now, we're not going to concede many goals this season, so we won't need to score hundreds to win games. If Nugent can score 15, King and Gally 10 each, Waggy, Howard, Vassel, Kermo (?) 15 between them, half a dozen from Danns, one or two thunderbolts from Wellens and 6 or 7 from the back, and maybe another 10 from loanies during the season, we'd have potentially 60-70 goals in the team. I personally think that, along with a tight defence that concedes less than 40, would be enough for promotion. Hence I'm very calm and relaxed about the whole situation <ok>

Let's face it, without Maynard you guys are going to be favourites for promotion this year. Hell, I couldn't believe it when you guys landed Sven as I rate him much much higher than a Championship manager and I'd recommend that you stick by him through thick and thin.

Anyway, I'm surprised that your lot are so desperate to sign him when you clearly don't need him, given the risk of his form not transferring over to your team. He's an out and out forward and as such performs for us when he's the focal point of the team. I think that at Leicester he'll just end up overshadowed and the second a bad spell of form hits him he'll be on the bench. He's worth £5M to us, but probably not to you when you could get someone really good for that kind of cash.

Yak out Nugent in = replaced!!

Nugent scored 15 goals from the wing in a team that only managed 53 all season, thats over a quarter of their goals. If he can score that many for them, in a team that created very little, surely he could score 15-20 for us, a team that created chances for fun last season?

    Proud Fox...

You really make me laugh when i read your posts, its like you know something we all dont!

Is Sven your real life mate or something, coz you seem to know everything he is thinking?

There is only 1 person in the world that knows what Nicky Maynard is thinking, and thats Nicky himself.

We really dont have any issues in the goal scoring front, so if he goes then fair enough it will be a good signing and he will get you 20 goals + per season, assuming he can stay fit.

We need 2 maybe 3 really strong defenders that can lead a back line, in my opinion we have the best Goal Keeper in the CC.

Persoanlly i would love to see Sol Campbell or someone of that caliber come to our club. I cant help but think that Louis is only there for moral support and keep the dressing room.

Come on Keefy, get us a couple of strong personalities at the back!

I would even go on to say i would not mind seeing Matty Hill back at the gate, he gave away a few penalities, but he would give Peter Crouch a challenge in the air!! Even though he was 4ft 1!

First off, this is posted on our board you thick t**t, and secondly, i really do think Maynard is the one to make a final decision on his future, his family and agent can all have their views, but ultimately only he knows where he is going.....

    Now bore off!!!

Yeah this new multi-post system just starts wumming wars.

The thing is, this is yet another damn Maynard thread, we are just going over the same ground again and again.

Im hoping this whole "Maynard will he wont he" thing will be sorted before next weekend.

Why all the anger, all the shouting and spouting off,it makes no difference what we fans (either side) think,Nicky has a value,LCFC will make a value and BCFC will decide their own value, player, agent and two managements will agree or disagree and continue to negotiate.

There is nothing else to do,let us all hope for a good conclusion,in my case Nicky stays with us but I won't complain to Leicester if they pay the right price and get their man...
