A true wit being over not seen him much over the years but watched when he was chairing Never mind the Buzzcocks, brilliant. RIP.
RIP Sir Terry. Have happy memories of listening to you. Great voice and great sense of humour. My wife and I will miss you!!
Sad news about Terry Wogan, a true Gentleman and professional RIP. This January has certainly seen a lot of greats depart this life.
Been honest but i couldnt stand Wogan. I was always hoping he'd be involved in the Savile stuff. And how he got away with wearing that dodgy syrup with no one mentioning it I'll never know. the Beeb eh RIP Tel
I was never a huge fan until I heard him on the radio - his gentle wit and humour made his breakfast show brilliant. PS You couldn't see his dodgy syrup on radio either!
I though his chat show was ****. Plus that getting paid to present children in need stuff. But I didn't bear him any ill will. RIP
I wasn't a fan either but millions was, so he must have been doing summat right. Saying that, I don't bear ill will to any man. R.I.P. Sir Terry
So let me get this straight - you wished he was a *****phile so you could justify disliking him? that's some logic.......
Never really 'got' Wogan when I was growing up and he was always on the telly, always found him annoying but r.i.p. to the fella he seemed like a decent man
A very witty and funny man, years ahead of his time. Some of the stuff he said on the Eurovision Song Contest was hilarious. R.I.P., Tel.
I once read terry wogan knew JS was a sicko years ago .. When asked by a journalist why he never said anything he said it was up to the journalists to out him. I didnt like him BUT i wouldnt wish him dead Edit...when i say i didnt like him i mean i didnt like any of the stuff he did on the TV
Went to one yesterday too - well it was the wake - an old Jock team-mate of mine - great lad, monstrous attendance - very popular lad, salt of the earth. Place was teaming with Scots, Irish & English. Pipers, singing Scottish songs, the lot. One of our team-mates, a Middlesbrough lad, was one of the speakers after the music stuff. One of the previous speakers had left a half finished glass of water on the podium. He picked it up, took a sip, and said "Who's are these teeth - should have been in the casket ?". He then said..."How come all these Scottish songs, lovely they may be, are all about killing the English ?". The place almost kicked off, you know, like most Scottish weddings & funerals tend to do. Doesn't matter that most of them were in their mid 60's to mid 70's. The lad from Teesside, brilliant wit & musician he is, defused the situation by getting a couple of Jocks, a couple of lads from both the Southern & Northern Irish contingents present, plus another couple of English lads, to come up on stage & sing one of the deceased mates favourite Rod Stewart songs..."Maggie May"...one of the NI lads' wife's names. Just brilliant. Best wake I've ever been to. Once more for me old mate...good to see Ronnie Wood from the old days too... and another... Maybe throw this one in for the scenery..
Thanks for posting the Mandolin Wind video tc, it was always one of my favourite tracks in my younger days and brings back great memories
Indeed so and then news of Frank Finlay. R.I.P. both. It has been crap since news of Lemmy. What has followed since...................................... Who next ?
January has been a great month actually - away from Death that is. Surprised that nobody has mentioned Derby County here ?
