I think we could see someone else in. There have been to many rumours about either defensive midfielders or another defender. But if we don't get anymore in I would be happy with what we got.
Davide Santon apparently in talks with Geona. So another defensive option to cross off our target list.
Really not sure if I would like anymore defenders. I mean I think it's an area we still need to improve, but at the same time with 2 new recruits I think any more change and the bedding in periods needed would be more costly than using weaker players.
As someone said before. None of our back 5 look "Bedded" in. I think we could sign a whole new back 5 and still have as good a connection and communication. As I said before, if we could find a great CB who has also played a lot as a LB. That would be perfect. (I still wish we would have made a real serious push for Koulibaly. He's a CB who played RB, rather than left, but still, He is total class. Then a DCM who can tackle, get stuck in and pass. Then again, perfect. (Someone like a Mario Suarez that Watford have just managed to sign )
Good post FML. Whilst I am happy with the players we have signed and it shows intent by all concerned to improve the team, my main concern is still that we don't know how good Klose will be in shoring up the defence. I don't expect we'll get much from the Spurs game, but should we fail to beat Villa on Saturday, then we will have to do a Leicester if we are to have any hope of staying up!!!
Damage control against Spurs. Really concentrate on defending and hit them on the counted when we can get the ball off them. Try and keep goal difference favorable. Villa is a must win 6 pointer. Don't even care about the performance, or if it's a 95th minute own goal.
Need a good showing Tuesday night getting the staff selection right is a massive task as Spurs have not failed to score for ages and have so many threats, but that's the joy of being in the top division Rudd Pinto Klose Bassong Brady Tettey Redmond Howson Jarvis Naismith Mbokani Would be my guess but with Redmond being told to regain that desire to go forward and take people on like we know he can, maybe a hungry Bamford in the squad might re kindle him
Klose is an excellent signing, IMO. Though right-footed, he's comfortable playing on either the right or left. He is a proven player rather than a promising up and coming player and I think he'll start beside Bassong against Spurs which will be quite a test. Bamford for me has the value of playing either as a lone striker or AM and adds pace in both positions and could well come on as sub when Naismith tires or up front as a better Grabban type alternative. Yes, Pinto screwed up his marking to concede a goal last week, but he also showed a lot of promise with his pace and all around play. I expect Wisdom to start against Spurs and I just don't get people who say we need a whole new defence. The Spurs game will tell us more, but it's right to say that Villa is a crucial game.
Excellent post RER and we'll know a lot more about our chances of survival by 5pm next Saturday. Changing topic slightly - I see Southend may be looking to sign Loza on a permanent deal in the summer - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...rmanent_switch_for_city_loanee_loza_1_4400179.
I know what you mean, Russ, but I was thinking that it would allow him to go all out for say 70 minutes and then Bamford could come on to use his pace against a tiring defence.
Am I dreaming, or delusional? Or both! I could have sworn AN said two or three weeks ago that he was prepared to sell Laffs, but was not interested in loaning him out? So he's either had a change of heart, or this 'publication' is talking out of it's arse! http://the72.co.uk/46712/leeds-united-keen-on-move-for-norwich-city-striker/?
If he wants rid, and no one wants to buy him, he's gotta loan him out. Again, like him saying "we will get our business done early" he's made a rod for his own back.
With Martin playing at CB, Wisdom was the logical choice last week except that he wasn't eligible to play against Liverpool. With the competition we now have at each position, I'd have thought the way to eliminate serious mistakes that lead to goals against should mean somebody else comes in for the next game. We have to cut out these mistakes to escape relegation. That's my opinion anyway.
