Im not sure if this is genuine (there seems to be a typo in the account name so it may be someone posing as the official account) but there is a tweet from an official looking account saying we have signed Bamford for an undisclosed fee. I cant find this anywhere else so im thinking its probably a hoax
Am I the only one to be completely underwhelmed by this possible signing? He's untested at this level, we already have Mbokani and Jerome fighting it out for our preferred lone striker role, I don't see Bamford as an upgrade on either of those two!
Plus, if you look on twitter, the site has four (4!) followers. I'd like to think the official site can muster a few more than that!
Didn't say it was good or bad, just a video of him playing. I already said yesterday and this morning, I don't know how to feel about the signing.
Did you see the picture of him on twitter sat on the Wembly turf crying his eyes out because we'd just beaten them? The account holder was saying he won't come to us because he hates us!
Further on the ASDA alert: Patrick Bamford has apparently been spotted with McNally at Carrow Road: "Patrick Bamford has apparently been at Carrow Road this morning and was snapped by a switched on City fan who has tweeted the picture. Phoebe@langerz9 tweeted that she was at the ticket office this morning at Carrow Road when she saw Bamford with David McNally - she even managed to take a photo of him getting into an Audi in the car park at the back of the Jarrold Stand. I think if he does come, he'll be a different option for Neil in the way that Grabban was, but I think Bamford is the better finisher and hopefully won't have any baggage. Mbokani and Jerome will probably get the nod more often than not, but he'd be a useful option, certainly a better one than Lafferty who we could then move on.
The thing is, He left Palace because he wasn't getting a game. Surely AN would have given him assurances? Otherwise he would go and sign for any of the many Championship clubs who wanted him.
I agree, DH, but he can also play at AM so that would also give us other options for Naismith or elsewhere.
Proven in the Championship so if the worse does happen then at least he should be good at that level. Can't really see him starting ahead of Mbokani and Jerome in the PL though, but maybe an impact sub?
Yes, but I thought lack of playing time was the reason he got disenchanted at Palace? No point coming here, to do similar, when - as mentioned above recently, several championship clubs were supposedly keen to sign him.
Maybe he wants a PL club and no others have came in for him? But I'm just speculating, no idea what the manager has in mind if we get him.
