He was still 20s for the World Hurdle when I posted this in November Have backed him in his last 9 races, best horse ever for me in terms of winnings but I just love him to bits too - he is so GRACEFUL
Gwaaannn Oddy. It's always nice to get a tasty price on one early doors Only injury can prevent you from collecting.
Viking Queen e/w at a big price in the last at Doncaster. No issues with conditions, promising enough debut (1st, 2nd, and 4th all gone on to win maiden hurdles since) and if coming on for the run could well have a good shot at making the frame.
joking aside, recent form must be serious cause for concern, Djakadam beaten when falling, Shaneshill tailed off, Up For Review, a horse recently described by beefy as a serious hurdler, also tailed off numerous odds on shots beaten in the last few days, are the wheels falling off? were Williams more forward than everyone else early on? bug in the yard? these are questions that only William can answer, you wouldnt want to be on too many of his just now with this apparent cloud moving in
Ricci and Wylie rumoured to be moving their horses to Olly Stevens' fledgling jumping career after today's efforts
Wouldn't say Djackadam was beaten when falling DK but going into to the Gold Cup with a fall like that is a concern.I think two of his 'B Guns' were well beaten today and don't look likely players now in March.Nothing wrong with the form of the yard as last week proved. In a way this could take the pressure and the media hype off him a little.I still expect him to have 6-8 winners at the Festivel, anything over there would be an unbelievable achievment.
I'd day Willie will send Djakadam to Gowran for a school in a few weeks time if the horse is ok after the fall.
Djakadam looked to be travelling lovely to be honest and was very quick at his fences- I think taking him wide made him slightly lose his balance so I suspect he'll be tucked away on the inside in March. The other thing that hasnt been mentioned on the back of that fall is Vautour. That debate about him going for the Gold Cup is now going to rage. Ricci reckons he can be up to 20kg lighter and fitter at Cheltenham, will prefer spring ground, left handed track, and a brilliant Cheltenham record. Interesting to say the least!
Yeah, Vautour is hardening up across the boards for the GC. That race seems all the rage for him right now. Could Djakadam end up in the Ryanair?
