Where the great and the good rub shoulders with the great unwashed in a quest to find the ultimate sandwich.

So what is your favourite? 9 grain honey oat, beef & chorizo melt with cucumber & peppers. Mint!

The phrase "the customer is always right" is not always true. I honestly hope the sarnie makers have a special "just put this finger in my ars*hole especially for you" glove that they use for the knuckle-dragging pig ignorant hatitude behaitch bredren from the college next to our local one. There must be a sign on the door that only the Yoot can read on their smartphones that says "please come in and abuse our staff, forget to say "may I have" and instead insist on "can I get" and ignore the fact that the person serving you might like to hear the words "please" and "thank you" every now and again. If you want extra toppings we are glad to help, just stand there pointing at the salad, sooner or later we will work out what you mean. Our staff also like to be told it is their fault that not enough meatballs have been included in your sub and in no way would we like our staff to remind you that it is a f*cking sandwich that only costs £3 for a reason."

    Or something like that.

Having popped in the Finsbury Park branch of Subway about 20 times this year, I think I've sussed out their business model. Rather like Gerald Ratners 99p gold earings, the product is utter ****, hence dirt cheap. But the salad bar and choice of breads creates the illusion of quality and distracts attention from the truly nasty selection of mechanically recovered processed meat.

Subway is probably worse for your health than McDonald's. Once you add the sauce and cheese there's over 1000 calories in a foot long sub :emoticon-0140-rofl:

I can't remember he last time I had a McDonald's. I had a Burger King in Germany in November. Was pretty good.

Subway could be so much better but they just give you the cheapest ****e available and usually stale bread.

    The cheese is rank too.
Do you mean the one near the market on Seven sisters road ?.
You would be better off buying some fresh bread salad and quality cold cuts from the Lidl next to the park entrance and making a heathier alternative Archers.
There is a kosher bakery opposite too for our Jewish bagel enthusiasts .
Subway always smells nice because they heat the bread and blow the smell out the front with fans but I have had too many soggy crappy sandwiches and the bastards fall apart carrying them in the badly designed plastic bags..

I never understand why people eat at Subway. Every town has independent sandwich makers, our best one is André's in Southsea, just up the road from Grubway. His chorizo sausage is very impressive.

Subways should only be eaten pissed at 1am+, you need to carry it home first whacking it into your knees so you're left with a slimey mess of a sandwich. It's also instantly inedible as soon as it's cold.

No one should ever eat any of the meat there, stuff looks ****ed. You'd be lucky if it was made from roadkill.

I used to like the bacon, egg, sausage and cheese breakfast subway. Not sure if they still do it or not
