He's done well when he's come in before. I think there was a part of me that was worrying (unnecessarily) about the old Kos / Vermaelen pairing. Both were great players in their own right, but just couldn't seem to bond at CB. Gabriel is a different player and I think he and Kos could form a really good partnership. That said, I still think Mertesacker is a good CB who offers a lot, but against pacey forwards, he's a liability.
Wenger has said Ospina will start in goal today with Elneny being given his debut too. So a few changes at least in defence and midfield with Gabriel in for Mert. Might see Ox and Iwobi getting a game today too.
It'll be interesting to see if Sanchez starts. Ps what the hell are you doing up at 6.56 on a sat morning? Wet the bed?
Rumours it'll be El Neny and Chambers in midfield to start. Would be good for Coquelin to get some minutes at some point if he is fit enough for it.
A bit risky playing two newbies in midfield together in this game but interesting to see how they play. Maybe play Ramsey or Flamini alongside one of them. I'd definitely give Coqs some minutes on the pitch.
I think Coquelin will play at least some part in the match if only to prove his fitness for up coming league games
And they are surprised why the FA cup is losing it's appeal. Is there anything terrestrial channels show nowadays!?!?
Good strong line up and excited to see how Elneny performs. Only issue is the creativity department and see if Iwobi does the business. Also good to see Rosicky back, hope he still has it. 13Ospina 21Chambers 5Gabriel 6Koscielny 3Gibbs 34Coquelin 35Elneny 45Iwobi 15Oxlade-Chamberlain 17Sánchez 12Giroud Substitutes 7Rosicky 8Arteta 14Walcott 18Monreal 24Bellerín 28Campbell 33Cech
