I have had many messages from quite a few of you asking for things to be done and I haven't responded, for this I apologise.

On Friday, quite a shocking incident happened at work which really shook me. Some know I work as a lifeguard at a Leisure Centre Part-Time, I was on the pool with another lifeguard, and whilst I was watching another part of the pool, I turned round to see my mate going towards the pool to get this kid, who by the looks of it had swallowed too much water and couldn't breath. I had to perform CPR on him, 5 year old boy, he came round eventually but with it being my first rescue, it hit me quite bad. I was more worried for the child, just in case any damage had been done whilst I performed the CPR. He was kept in at hospital on Friday night, luckily he was given the all clear on Saturday, no damage, no water in the lungs. Quite a shocking incident having to bring someone back. The pool was really busy at the time which makes our job harder as we can't watch everyone constantly, its a scanning process.

Don't get me wrong, I am proud and delighted with what I did, not many can say they saved a life but it shook me up quite bad over the weekend. I did my job and everyone has been great with me saying how well I did and that I shouldn't worry, even my boss was making cups of tea for me!

Sorry to those who were expecting replies. I'm back now that I know the lad is OK, can't wait to see him again, it will put my mind to rest.

    Back to all things NUFC!

Exactly what I said. The moment he started crying was better than any goal against Sunderland!

Yeh, I'm emotionally drained today....was a horrible day yesterday. Its sadly ironic that you saved this kid from drowning, while Rich did drown.

I can see how that shook you up, literally holding a person's life in your own hands.

Well done though, when the moment came you lived up to what you're trained and paid to do!

No, he jumped into the River Ouse after finishing work. So, he cant have even been drunk. Just a moment of complete madness and stupidity.

Well done Leazes, you have every right to be very proud. I can't think of anything more heroic than saving a life. Welcome back aswell.
