    Liverpool striker's injury record since 2013

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35427212

    As Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge nears his latest return to fitness, it is hard to escape the feeling that we have been here before.
    The England forward, 26, moved to Anfield three years ago but has been unavailable for 54.8% of his time at the club - that's 614 days missed out of 1,121 spent on Merseyside.
    Reds manager Jurgen Klopp said after taking over that Sturridge needs to "learn what is serious pain and what is only pain".
    if (window.bbcdotcom && bbcdotcom.slot) { bbcdotcom.slot("mpu", [1,2,3]); }
    if (window.bbcdotcom && bbcdotcom.show) { bbcdotcom.show(); }
    So just how bad is his injury record? Here, with the help of experts PhysioRoom, we take a detailed look at his fitness problems since signing for Liverpool in January 2013:

    Shame footballers don't get statutory sick pay after a certain amount of days off.

    I noticed that. Isn't that what ice baths are supposed to help?

    Pathetic either way. We have a drama queen on our books lol. Far cry from the old days of playing with broken bones concussion etc.

    Wonder how many would be injured if they didn't get paid whilst they was out <whistle>

    Sturridge is a ****ing wet fart. Sooner he ****s off the better. Just leaching 100k+ off us each week for **** all. His attitude stinks. Suarez had a billion niggles but heck if that would stop him.

    http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jan/29/liverpool-daniel-sturridge-play-again-jurgen-klopp

    Klopp said: “He is still working. Sometimes it is better, sometimes it is a bit worse because of other issues. That is all. He has done a lot of sessions in the last few weeks but it is always interrupted with a few breaks. He needs consistency in the sessions and that’s what we try to do. His injury history means this is normal. It is not coincidence.

    “Some things are not right if you are injured that often. We have to be really sensitive with all the information we get. He could do a lot of sessions in the last few weeks but, like I said, they have always been interrupted with a few different issues where we always have to see and wait on what happens. That is how it is.

    There is no doubt that he is a very, very good player but at this moment he is not available so we don’t have to talk too much about him. He is not here. He cannot play tomorrow for sure, not against Leicester (in the Premier League next Tuesday) and I don’t know what happens after Leicester to be honest.”

    What I don't get about Sturridge is, surely he wants to play. There has to be some part of him thats saying 'I want to play' and that part must be bigger than the part saying 'I'm injured'. There must also be some professional pride that wants to justify his wage and status as a footballer.

    If I have a period of not playing, even in the off season when there are no games, I get itchy to play again. I want to play and look forward to the weekends cause I know I'll get to play. And I don't even get paid to play

  19. Same. Tonight's football was cancelled and it's put me in a right mardy mood. Beer helps though.
