I'd play Wimmer mate, for two reasons: 1 - He's a left footer and thus slots into the left hand side where Jan plays easier than Dier would and he's looked fine in his appearances to date, he'll only improve too. 2 - Dier plays the DM role superbly, so much so to the point where no one else can really deputise in an effective fashion in my opinion, Mousa and Nabs can play a defensive role but they're better as either a deep playmaker or a box to box type, not someone who'll throw themselves about making blocks and tackles. £12m for Andros, good business.
Adebayor to sign for Palace today or whenever he can be arsed to turn up. Along with Wickham (and Frazier 'Bloody' Campbell) they now form my least favourite strike force ever and I mean EVER!
I would think (hope) that someone with a serious ligament injury wouldn't be hobbling around Barcelona a couple of days later. And someone put 2+2 together earlier on, the club said he had the injury, some other non-Spurs source said it would be a couple of months out. I would think that information is unlikely to have been released officially.
I would play Dier at centre back. Alli and Moussa as deep sitting mids. That's an in form trio. However I do have confidence in Wimmer from what I have seen.
Alli is something of an instigator, but far from the worst sort. I was impressed with the way he faced off after what he thought was something over the line. In itself it’s the kind of reaction any team needs more of: the body language was: you’re trying to push us around, but we won’t back down an inch. Some of the other things he’s done I wouldn’t back. But there’s an issue I could call "street versus school." Playing on the street, trying to instigate up to a point and razz in general is part of the fun. I think Alli is a kid having fun, which is as it should be. For all the money and attention PL games draw, he’s playing a game, and to play a game properly you need to play.
Wickham should be banned for as long as the injury keeps Jan out. It's the only way these thuggish tw*ts will learn.
I haven't seen any more of Wimmer than anyone else on here, so hopefully people will agree when I say he has looked very competent when stepping in. As someone has already mentioned, he should slot into Vert's place on the left hand side more easily than Dier might. Also, a fringe player with a good and patient attitude like Wimmer has, could be expected to grasp the opportunity to make the place his own in a winning team hoping to win something. There's an opportunity and incentive for him.
For what it's worth, Wimmer was part of the best defence outside of the German top 4 last season when playing for Koln, so the guy is used to being part of a successful rear guard. I think we've got a good understudy here to step in and I like Spurcat's confidence in that he feels Jan may struggle to regain his place as that's exactly the sort of competition and quality we want in the side. With the Euro's round the corner, Wimmer will definitely have an added incentive to look the dog's bollocks too.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...key-men-team-by-team-guide.html?frame=3559474 "One of the season's fairytales, Alli has taken the Premier League by storm and he has, statistically, the biggest impact on any team's results. Spurs win 61.1 per cent of the games Alli starts but have not won at all without him. He adds goals and assists but also work rate and graft that is hugely important to his team. Difference in win rate: 61.1%" Whatever your opinion of what Alli does, it certainly seems to be working.
Connor Wickham's been handed a three game ban for this: please log in to view this image I can't believe that him and Palace actually tried to claim that it was excessive. Arseholes.
The problem is that it helps our rivals not us. He should be banned for the next 3 times Palace play Spurs.
