Just been reading the Fulham board and it doesn't bode well for this. They reckon McCormack is off to Middlesbrough and Dembele has refused to sign a new deal so will be practically worthless in the summer and if he goes to Spurs, doesn't want to be loaned back anyway. Apparently, accepted pre contract offer from Monaco but obviously only speculation... Either way, doesn't look like they are going to have many strikers left so this deal may be dead...
Oh dear that does not look to clever, however im sure there must be something in it with us going back with a bid.
If Fulham are under a transfer embargo does that stop them bringing in loan players too ? If McCormack and Dembele did leave in this window it would be slightly unfair if they weren't at least allowed to replace them with loanees ?
I think it works out they can spend a 1/3 of a transfer fee they get for a player. So say we got Smtoh for 900k they can use 300k now and buy someone. That's what I've read anyway...
I would much rather we battled Wolves to get Joe Mason from Cardiff. looks a very tidy player and at £3million, not a bad price either
Do we have a plan B for recruiting an additional striker before the window closes if Smith is unavailable?
We have already got that young one from France earlier this month. I don't know about him but he was training on the side of the pitch against Middlesborough and he looks a big battering ram forward and only 19 I think.
Forget Matt Smith, go back to Fulham now McCormack has put in a transfer request, pop a cheeky £7-9 Mill bid for him, that would be money very well spent.
Dembele off to Spurs but will be sent back on loan - note the use of "sent back" because he was apparently quite vocal in his desire for this NOT to happen...
