Paloschi, Sinclair (hopefully) and Gayle for possibly £65-£70k a week which would give us roughly a £10k a week save on Gomis wages alone.
Gomis is on around £50-60k wages from what I know. However, his signing on fee is being spread across his contract and added to his wage - so this bumps him up to something like £80k a week. Something like that anyway. Onto the OP - personally, I think Adebayor is decent business for now (...as long as they don't buy him, he'll do well for 6 months as per usual before tailing off when he gets comfortable). Townsend is awful business at that cost. It's signings like Shelvey and Townsend that could eventually be the death of a club like Newcastle. Both decent players, probably have relegation get-out clauses, and both probably on sky-high wages. Should Newcastle go down, it's signings like those that will bite them hard next season.
