"New Swans boss Francesco Guidolin is said to know Paloschi well and the Swans are reported to have beaten off competition from Sampdoria.

Former AC Milan striker Paloschi, who has been on the fringes of the Italy squad in the past couple of years, has scored eight goals in 22 Serie A matches this season."

Doesn't sound too bad. Guid must fancy him. Bye Bafe!

Multi reports from British sources are saying 8 million pounds for Paloshi with a single Italian media outlet saving 8 million Euros , wonder who will be right ( whistling )

I'm personally not happy that our answer to the striker question is Paloschi (if he signs). He's better than Gomis but we need a striker that can hold up the ball and bring other players into the game... He's an out and out striker, but if he provides goals then I suppose that's good enough

Beggars can't be choosers , at this point a new face with any kind of scoring record will do for me .
Something that says "I'm new and focused with the task at hand " and the rest of the team are inspired that someone new is actually here and ready to play a striker role . Not asking for the moon , just a shooting star .

I suppose it depends how FG wants us to play. It could be that Paloschi is "perfect" for Guidolin's Game Plan - a Gomis type striker may suit his Plan "B"

We have left everything late and we have no choice than to trust Mr G now ...Just 8 goals out of 22 games in Italian football is a worry as Italians unless you are a really big star tend to struggle with premiership football and will need time to get up to speed and that is time we don't have....sounds like another Gomis to me ...half decent in their own league but struggles in ours. I hope we have not wasted another £8m but its out of our hands and we will just have to hope Mr G has got it right.....

Dai - Guidolin would not want to tarnish his career record by having PL relegation included on his cv. Because of that I'm positive that he would have only recommended Paloschi because he feels certain that he will do a job for us! <cheers>

One thing I will say though is that Italian league is very defensive and he should find a little more space in the PL. I hope that we do get the ball to him early and in space instead of 20 passes on the edge of the box and never getting it actually into the box. Lets wait and see what he can do, lets not slaughter him before he even signs and lets give him a few games before everyone says he is sh1te.

I guess we're putting in a 7.5 million bit for Gayle from Palace .If it goes through we have to pay Palace 500,000 a year every season we stay up with him playing a certain amount of games .
Who thinks up these deals ...jeez
