RE: Oviedo. Hasn't he had a ridiculous amount of time off with injuries since moving to the EPL?

He seems like he gets injured a lot. The Break, was actually a double leg break.

So i hear there is nothing in the Swedish midfielder rumours? :-( Shame... i truely believe we are sh*t at the back because of our lack of dominance in the middle. Without Tettey (and even with sometimes) we are useless in CM.

How many "rumours" have we had this window ?

Fair play to Mr Darnborough if they are all true - the lad's been flogging his ass off ! <yikes>

Just a thought but with us playing on Tuesday night, do you think we will want to be messing about with transfer late on Monday? I think they will want deals done by Sunday eve.

I like him - he'd be a good fit for us I think. A bit all-action and plays DM with a bit of flair - a bit like Leroy Fer but without the sulk.

I really don't get why we would want to give RvW a go. Every time he's gone out on loan he's failed to impress even playing in lesser leagues than the PL against teams that are way off PL standard. What makes people think he's PL quality ? Personally, I've seen nothing since he signed for us to suggest he is.

Hard working, Solid, strong and a leader who can sit in DCM or CM, 6'2, Good tackler, good in the air.

I'd like him. Especially if we, for some reason, lose Mulumbu. I'd rather keep Tetty and Mulumbu, Get Jedinak in, and get rid of Dorrans or O'Neil, or both.

I think Jedinak would be an upgrade on O'Neil. I know he divides opinion but his distribution and calmness on the ball really add to our midfield. Thing is he has limitations, like tackling.

Well O'Neill isn't perfect in that area either.
Despite his pre season injury I really thought Mulumbu would come in and make a strong claim for a starting spot. That hasn't happened, so Mulumbu for Jedinak doesn't seem like a terrible change to the squad if it comes at a reasonable price. I don't see it as a big upgrade though. Tinkering rather than a real improvement.

Davide Santon another name linked, I think he's predominantly a left back but can play either side?

I meant it's not one of O'neil's strength. Jedinak is pretty good.

Not sure if it's been put on here but McCormack has handed in a transfer request.

I would have to agree with comments above about how we struggle when Tettey is injured or unavailable. I was really happy with the Mulumbu signing and saw him and Tettey teaming up in the CDM position during some points of this season. Its disapointing that we haven't seen more of Mulumbu but maybe the injury before pre-season hindered his progress or maybe AN doesn't think hes as good as we may have thought.

It will be interest to see what happens over the last few days of the transfer window. I was really keen for a new striker but with Mbokani doing well I think I would now be more keen on an upgrade in CDM/CM. We have Mbokani/Jerome/Lafferty and Even Naismith in an emergency if necessary.

These issues we seem to be having lately with a lack of steel in our centre-midfield, and even the dilemna about what to do with our left side (where I yet to be convinced that Jarvis is anything like the answer) just make the decision to move Bradley Johnson on seem even more bizarre. Well it does to me anyway.

Agree, I was one of the ones angry and gutted when he got sold. I'd rather Tetty and Johnson with some balls in midfield, than O'Neil or Dorrans

Oh how we could have done with Johnson in the away match at Newcastle, the away match at Bournemouth, the away match at Watford...

In other words, probably the most important losses of our season and if we don't stay up those will be the matches you look at and think could we have tightened up and gone for a draw. Just the level he would have been perfectly capable of playing in. Mind you, we desperately needed his sort of presence on Saturday too.
