From what I've seen, the argument for a Smith over Moreno is "he can't defend any worse" which is a joke. Especially when Flanno is back available.
Wouldn't mind Moreno being used as a wide option. Can't have less end product than Ibe does at the moment really. Smith in at LB... not sure. Looked good vs Exeter and may deserve minutes - but that doesn't mean he'll be better than Moreno. We could be sitting in a week's time complaining about Smith's positioning etc. We just haven't seen him challenged yet. At the moment I'd be playing Clyne and Flanagan if he's up to it.
And we won't unless he gets to play. I'm sure Klopp can see what they're all capable of and give him time if he thinks he's good enough. If he keeps playing Moreno in that position then it must be that he thinks he's the best option for the balance of the team.
I agree he should get a chance. Just cautioning against the logic that Moreno = bad means Smith = better. We just don't know yet and fans have a way of improving players who don't play.
Most are picking Smith over Moreno because "he can't defend any worse" Even more ludicrous when you remember Flanno is available again now.
True. And fans also have a habit of bigging up their favourites. I think Smith's shown enough to be given a chance, but what do I know? Certainly not as much as the manager (and I said that when Rodgers was in charge as well), so I leave the decisions up to him. It isn't always just about the "best" player- the best balance for the team is more important, imo. Moreno's bombing forward could be a big asset if the rest of the defence/midfield covered adequately. It's just that atm we have a bloody big hole there all the time.
Not only that flannagan is being blamed for not tracking the guys run but correctly playing that guy offside! Genius there is absolutely no mistake in what flanno did but 100 percent morenos fault
Just watched the game again and I take it back, the goal was definitely Moreno's fault, he was really poor and Klopp rightly shouted at him. Flanno and Sakho were both good but the former was better, definitely MOTM.
I've been thinking about it for a while now but, I think Klopp could make something of Benteke. He likes the pressing approach but I can see him bringing in a couple of creative players to get the best out of the big man. Probably going to sure up the defence by dropping Moreno and play a 4231 with Benteke at the point, the three behind will all be there to supply Benteke's 20+ goals a season.
Why wouldn't I be? Don't you agree? Lallana is great too, just needs to add a few goals to his game. Klopp's already improved Lovren so can't see why he can't do the same for Lallana.
Let's not get carried away. Lovren alongside Sakho with Ilori as back-up. Sell Skrtel, Toure and Caulker!
No doubt you've been doing some avid research as to who he should bring in. Any 'elite talent' that you reckon he should be going after?
