Man City's Mario Balotelli attempted the trick shot below during their pre-season tour of America and was promptly substituted by his manager. Was Mancini right to sub him, or is he just a miserable killjoy?
Depends what he was doing during the rest of the game. If he had contributed the square root of bugger all and then did that then he deserved to be substituted. If he was playing well and did that then it should have just been laughed off.
It was 31 minutes in and they were leading 1-0 against piss-poor opposition... I voted yes because he looks like a twat with that haircut
If he'd done it during a competitive game, I'd have said yes. However, I think fans are quite happy to watch players try something a bit different during a meaningless friendly, so I voted 'no'.
Don't think it's the worst in the world, but supposedly all the fans got on his back after he done that and so maybe Mancini was forced to sub him.
The commentators are so ****ing annoying
Wasn't there a video doing the rounds last week of some guy who did a ****ty back heel for a penalty .. all over the news as 'is this the best penalty ever??' .. same thing but on target and at a really crap goalkeeper .. best thing / worst thing .. very fickle .. if it had sneaked in he would have been lauded by all and sundry .. for every 10 of those that go wrong there's one that works and the player is a genius (that scorpion save by Rene Higuita anyone?) A friendy game .. Mancini was an arse to pull him for that and realises it now which is why he's laughing it off ..
thing is he was at an angle to the goals, it was practicly impossible for him to score. it was always going to wide from that angle. stupid boy
What is it with this new "I have to back heel everything including penalties 'cos it makes me look so cool" fad. I can back heel a football FFS.
