You trusted Catholic priests before? Spotlight, forgot to give my view on it at the time, 9.5/10 for me, absolutely superb. Definitely in my top 5 films of the year.
Day 27, film 27, my first at the cinema this year. Went to See "daddies home", with will Farrell and Mark wahlberg, it was a very funny film,I took my grandson, he loved it.... Gonna watch another film Tonight, unfortunately my other half is picking it So it will probably be a chick flick .... Really looking forward to it...... Not !!!!!
Watched Spotlight last night and thought it was excellent. Coincidentally, I heard Sacha Pfeiffer (who was played by Rachel McAdams in the movie) interviewed on CBC radio this morning which added some additional insight. It just shows how deviants in positions of authority or control can abuse their positions of trust in settings such as churches, youth movements, sports teams, boarding schools and Canadian residential schools. I guess the answer is to be vigilant without being paranoid.
Has anyone watched The Rack Pack? It's about the rivalry between Alex Higgins and Steve Davis, obviously it's been heavily dramatised based on fact. There's some great music in there too. You can only watch it on BBC iplayer apparently so the links below. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p03bv0t5/the-rack-pack
How is it that it has taken me almost 48 years after its release to see "Once upon a time in the West." ??? Picked it up in a charity shop a week back for almost nothing. What a fantastic movie - everything about it was superb - the storyline, Claudia Cardinale, the scenery, the personalities, the Music - wow, Claudia Cardinale, the opening scene of ten minutes duration, the McBain murder scene - that was traumatic, especially the young un, Claudia Cardinale, the final shoot out - brilliant, Claudia Cardinale. Man, that was a Western but it was just so much more than those Hollywood formulaic offerings. Take a bow, Sergio Leone, Ennio Morricone, the complete cast & Claudia can bow or bend whatever way she wishes.
