Here's one. Bernard Manning. Came across as a truly foul human being. Racist, sexist, rude, obnoxious, egotistical.
I think this belongs on the single thread for people who want to post blank posts, dots, full stops and other punctuation marks.
He was a pretty good guy actually, did alot for charity but just didn't buy into the repulsive PC **** times we live in. It was mainly an act anyway.
I never mourn politicians, they're all ****s. People argue about Thatcher or Blair or this man/woman. They're a bunch of self serving pricks so who cares when they pop it. For every one someone points out something good they've done, you can point to another 10 things to taint their memory.
Played a bit of Neil Diamonds "Sweet Caroline" at his funeral. "Hands, touchin' hands Reachin' out, touchin' me, touchin' you"
Met him several times in the late 80's and early 90's when he performed at events in hotels I worked at, he was always fine with the staff and really pleasant, as you say it was an act, one that got out of step with the PC attitudes as time went on but then growing up in the 60's and 70's it was a very different world we lived in, the days of Love Thy Neighbour and Til Death Do Us Part, even some of the sketches of the Two Ronnies are considered so extreme now that the BBC will never repeat them.
Tash encouraging George Michael to suck his sack...in the real world you just know it would happen. Re Bernard Manning...saw him at a club in Gateshead during the 1990s....."who ate all the pies...?"
