Evening all. Decent enough point yesterday, but Saturday is a good opportunity to rest Cook ^& co., & play the newbies. Normal back 5 with both Caryoll & Dave starting. Dallas on the other wing and Adeyemi also in CM. We can then play Antenucci & Doukara up front. Thoughts?. On reflection given that the game is a sideshow, Imight be tempted to get Bamba back to partner Cooper. Thoughts?
Thought Evans said something about Bamba has gone back to France for family reasons and we look forward to our Captain returning - might be a bit more to this one so could be stuck with Bellusci for a while
Was listening to Talksport this morning on the way to an appointment. They were talking about the top 4 as normal, and fans loyalty. Matty Holland said that he reckoned Leeds fans were amongst the most loyal in the Country.
According to YEP Journo Amitai Winehouse : Five in midfield is not defensive but necessary It is always easy to suggest 4-4-2 when a team is struggling to win games, but the formation is outdated and is easily overwhelmed by opposition with three central midfielders. Leeds need to play five in the middle, not least because they now have players that are well suited to it. There will always be accusations that having a trio of Liam Bridcutt, Lewis Cook and Toumani Diagougara is defensive, but the alternative allows too much time and space. Leaving Mirco Antenucci up front alone was a big difference maker in the second-half.
Evening Ell. Excellent thread as always but taking that we don't get beaten by more than a single goal and don't get thumped by 4 or 5 regularly as progress is, whilst technically correct, it is the single most depressing thing I've heard for ages . And I'm not sure if our expectations have heightened or has patience lessened? IS it right crowd averages are falling?
Lewis Cook cannot be shunted wide again The one moment of any quality in the first-half came from Lewis Cook picking up the ball in the centre of the park and threading a through ball through to Antenucci. Antenucci went down when he could have shot and scored, looking for a penalty rather than a goal, but it did not detract from the pinpoint accuracy of the pass. Leeds looked much better with Cook in the middle rather than on the left-wing, where he started the game. In the future he needs to spend the entire 90 minutes there.
Whilst I kind of agree with your post Xbod, if we just accept what we are and where we are, what / where is the motivation to be better. We should never accept being lower championship also rans.
Yes crowd averages are falling. Glory is a good example. A die hard Leeds fan that has just had enough. He has gone from the most loyal follower to, well, I would almost say skeptical.
Think I mentioned on another thread that the difference between winning and losing is very small. If we can turn the advantage another 20 percent in our favour, we'd be in the play offs.
I was never the most loyal. Season tickets got used every home game, life was planned around home games and me and the Mrs did about ten away games. Some will do eveey game. The reason I didn't renew was I has only enjoyed three games in two seasons. 4-2 at Charlton..... 5-1 at home to Huddersfield and Sunderland in the cup. The rest was **** and not worth the days given up or the what must have been £2.5k - £3k it was costing with food, travel and hotels.
48 pal, sometimes feel older. Those events were over 40 years ago, time to leave them in the past Lots of things back then never helped the cause and we might have been mistreated unfairly but I see where you are coming from.
